"The Mountain" is not an album, It's an experience. That's literally the easiest way I can put it. What more can I say about this album that hasn't already been said? Geuine question, what more is there to say? The instrumentation is actually perfect, the flow of the album is flawless, and all the different sounds from different cultures makes me feel so appreciative that we're all unique and have our own ways of celebrating traditions, spending time with friends ... read more
Don was one of the OGs to blow up, late 2019/early 2020 with No Idea was so much fun to listen to, the Heaven or Hell album was truly generational and the start of something great. I haven't caught up with Don except for BANDIT off Hardstone Psycho (which I also need to give a full listen to sooner or later), but when I heard the first teaser of E85, I was INSTANTLY hooked!! That Malcom Todd sample was just heavenly, so I knew I had to check out the full album, and almost 3 months later, ... read more
I was recommended this album by Felix, AKA Life 9 himself, and I'm finially checking it out after a little over a month in my Spin List. A lot of these songs have that poppy vibe to them and I enjoy music like that. There were some samples in there of Tyler, The Creator in one of his interviews and I was a bit surprised to hear him in this project, even as only a sample. Felix definitely has a unique style to him, as every artist should, and he uses that uniqueness to the best of its ... read more
(EDIT: I've had a conversation with KonKrete and we talked it out. I got to hear his point of view and I've apologized to him. I wish for there to be no bad blood between us, and I will use this experience to learn from my mistakes and improve upon them. Thank you.)
If I'm gonna be completely truthful, I honestly prefer "In Time" over this, but that was taken down of streaming, so I'll make do with what I have. The beat is nice and is one of KonKrete's best, ... read more
I ran into Maksim while he was live streaming on TikTok a while back and he was honestly a really chill guy. We chatted through his stream for a bit, then I noticed he was a musician and I wanted to check it out. I already added all his music to the site and added this "loved lost loved" album to my Spin List to check it out and, well... It didn't go as planned. I wanted to like this album so bad because Maksim was genuinely such a nice and chill guy but it just didn't ... read more
DISC ONE - POMPEII:
From what I've heard of MIKE, he's usually more of a chill hip-hop kind of artist. That was the mindset that I have going into this album, but when it started to sound more trappy and bassy than MIKE's previous work, I was definitely surprised. Now, this is not me going on a tangent of "Uggghhhhh, I want the REAL MIKE, not this!!!", that's not what's going on here. I honestly didn't mind the new sound and I think MIKE fits it well, ... read more
DISC ONE - MORE ANXIETY:
Just like what I did with "Half Blood (BloodLuxe)", I decided to also listen to the "More Anxiety" tracks alongside the original album, and I must say that there's definitely some improvement from the original album. I will say, not by much, but something is better than nothing, you know what I mean? I will admit that there are some songs that somehow sound WORSE than the OG album and I didn't even think it would be possible to do ... read more
2slimey is definitely an interesting case. He's grown popular over the last couple of months with his, for lack of a better word, unique take on the underground sound. Mostly specializes in the depth and intensity of the bass, it definitely is a lot more than what most people are used to, myself included. I wanted to give 2slimey an honest review and listen to his album in one shot, and this is the conclusion that I've come up with: Definitely a lot better than I was expecting, but ... read more
I don't know if it's just me being SUPER into shoegaze or just trancey music in general, but this album was ABSOLUETLY PERFECT!!! I've been seeing this album on the Reasonable Records website because the CD was being sold with bonus tracks for only $10. I was thinking to myself "Hmmm, this album looks interesting, I feel like getting it." But in my opinion, I think it would be weird buying something you've never heard. It's a lot easier today in the world of ... read more
Shoutout Rocket, this is FIRE!!!! Super satisfying to listen to and I really enjoyed the lyric video they made to this song. Banger :3
I've heard of underscores before, but I never really took the time to listen to her music. I know some people who really enjoyed this album and I wanted to see what all the hype is about. Let's say that she knows what she's doing because this was AWESOME!!!! Every single song was so much fun to listen to and it just made me feel so alive! I must say that underscores definitely has a unique sound that only she can master. Not to say that ONLY her can be good at the sound, ... read more
It's good, but it was NOT worth all the hype, I'm gonna be honest
Such a generational and nostalgic song in my opinion, but this music video just sucks so bad, I'm sorry. The idea and concept are there, but it's executed so poorly and it doesn't land right
RE-REVIEW - 4/12/2026:
100 > 78
Yea, I'm gonna be honest, I think I took it a bit too far by giving this album a 10/10. It's still a good album, don't get me wrong, but I definitely don't see the potential of it being perfect after giving it a 2nd listen. The hiccups I mentioned in my original review are definitely a lot more noticable during the second listen, but there were still some moments I enjoyed in the album. This is not me saying Slayyyter is a bad musician, ... read more
This is another album that Dman suggested to me, and the comeplete 180 from "THE COMEDOWN" by smokedope2016 is actually insane to me. I've always been into music that makes you feel like you're in a trance. One prime example of this kind of music is Tame Impala, who surprisingly is a feature on the album, so that checks out. We even have a posthumous feature from Mac Miller, which I thought was really nice. Him over Thundercat's production just hits the right nerve for ... read more
There are parts where the lyrics are a bit cringy and generic, I'll admit that. But holy hell this instrumental is genuinely beautiful.
Holy fucking ass gang, why does this mod exist??? AI bootlickin' yet hates FL Studio, we truly live in a society. I don't even feel like giving a proper review, just no...
