First, I ascend. Then? I groove.

Jack White - No Name

Such a classic feeling, but also sounds new and refreshing. Shit sounds so dirty and filthy in the best kind of way. Sounds like a bit of hell yeah to me. Jack White is so cool.

Scary album cover, bad album.

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

Incredibly overrated. It’s good, great even, but Jesus Christ guys it’s not the messiah. Vocals are iffy, the whole cinematic orchestral vibe is way too overindulgent, the 15 track runtime is long and unwarranted, some songs just go on for way too long. It’s a funky, fun, groovy, weird (in a great way) record that is mostly enjoyable to listen through, but it’s far from flawless and it’s absolutely no masterpiece, calm your titties. It’s brat all over again ... read more

SHIT SHIT SHIT BATTERED

Most anticipated album of the year and oh boy did it deliver. Each track stands out and stands on its own, differing from the last in a substantial way to keep the listening experience fresh and interesting. We've got funky bangers like Starburster and Death Kink, existential dread in In the Modern World, Motorcycle boy misses his wife, truly there's something here for everyone who is slightly miserable. The production is top tier as well, those drums are more ... read more

Make Them Suffer - Oscillator

It doesn’t really feel like make them suffer outside of the breakdowns, pretty generic, that bring me the horizon ass chorus had me a bit :( but it got better throughout. Better than epitaph in my opinion, but not by much. Holding out hope for the album since Doomswitch and Ghost of Me are peak.

Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism

None of these songs are original and the melodies are shamelessly copied from older songs with zero subtlety. I can’t consider any of them covers since she added her own h&m AI written lyrics to go with the tunes she’s stolen, so I’ll just consider it theft, and theft gets you a zero. Thank you very much, and please stop writing more music you talentless hack.

Fontaines D.C. - Here's The Thing

The third single off of the album comes off as the least impressive to me. While still having some very cool riffs akin to something like Queens of the Stone Age (?) it’s a bit samey throughout and ended up being a bit repetitive. I would’ve appreciated some more building blocks throughout to evolve the song, but still a pretty great, if not a bit generic song. Loving how diverse all of these singles have been so far.

The Smashing Pumpkins - AGHORI MHORI MEI

This album makes me so happy. Smashing Pumpkins are an all time favorite band of mine, their first few albums having this incredible sense of nostalgia for me, having been a go-to band I listened to in high school. So to see them release an album that isn't some wacko Billy Corgan passion project that makes no sense at all, and actually go back to their roots with a sound that reminds me so much of classic Smashing Pumpkins is so wonderful. This album reminds me most of something like ... read more

"@tn3t3ta you’re allowed to like the poppy album of course, I just think it’s sad to see a band that used to feel so original and interesting turn so generic and sound exactly the same as another album done by the same producer that barely came out a year ago. But of course that’s just my opinion and I appreciate yours and am happy this new sound is enjoyable to you, it’s just a bit of a let down to me. Hopefully the album as a whole turns out great."

"@Ignominy25 I have an opinion and I’m voicing it. You’re entitled to yours too. I simply don’t understand the hype, but like I said the album is good. I never once said “don’t listen to it!” Or “you’re stupid if you like this”, I’m simply asking why because i don’t get it. But since I didn’t like your favorite album as much as the next guy you’ve had to go and stalk my profile and attack my reviews. Sad."
