I liked some tracks a lot, but overall not very convincing (for me personally!). I can see why this is - objectively - a very strong and cohesive album.
Favourite song: All I Wanted

I fear I'll always have a special place for this album
Favourite song: Cemetery Drive (!!!)
Least favourite song: I'm Not Okay (I Promise) -- Just overplayed for me but still a great song
Instantly put me in a good mood (and that usually takes a lot-...). This is outstanding, oh my god. This record definitely gets me closer to God x
Favourite song: Closer (this version is perfection)
Least favourite song: Me, I'm Not
PERFECT <3
Favourite song: 92 degrees & Starcrossed Lovers
Least favourite song: Party's Fall
Listening to this while experiencing the most deathly migraine of my life. Makes me want to suffer in the best way possible.
"There's blood on the moon and the summer is cold" "When you get there will you kiss the dead for me" "I cut myself again and again to remind myself of you" ... Beautiful lyricism.
Favourite song: Scream of the Butterfly & The Morticians Flame & The Bones of Baby Dolls (I can't choose I'm sorry)

This record blew me away to say the least. All the melodies are so well written, they're even addictive. Their best work for sure! The synths in 'I Saw Nothing Good so I Left' are truly out of this world! Combined with the gloomy female vocals... One of the best songs I've ever heard.
+ If you're reading this, you should definitely check out Zwarte Poëzie, their other project.
Favourite song: I Saw Nothing Good so I Left (& This Grotesque Dance)

Very underrated Dutch post-punk/dark wave project. Their newest release!

One of my all time favourites ♥. What a beautiful darkness they create...
Favourite song: Faces of the Gone & Your Master Is Calling
Least favourite song: Celebration's Day
Amazing post-punk album with an immaculate opening song. Pink Turns Blue never disappoints!
Favourite song: I Coldly Stare Out & When It rains
Least favourite song: When the Hammer Comes Down
every time I listen to this, I can't help but completely dissociate. The ultimate form of escapism to me. This record truly unlocked something inside me... I don't know what yet...
Favourite song: Magic Spells & Love and Caring (And of course the popular ones like Untrust us, Crimewave, Vanished)
Least favourite song: Good Time
Objectively, a very very beautiful piece of music. Love the instrumentals. Moody atmosphere? Consider me IN!
Even though I definitely liked it, I still feel like it's lacking in a way. I just wished there was a bit more to it.
Favourite song: For Sure & The Summer Ends
Least favourite song: Honestly?
Pure industrial chaos and absolute hell... This album is not only a musical experience, but an artwork on its own. Trent Reznor did excellent writing for this record. It's mainly about commiting suicide and that's exactly what it sounds like. Insane in every way. Wow.
Favourite song: Reptile
Least favourite song: A Warm Place
I will defend this band with my life, but even after all these years, I still don't really know what to think of this record. I'm not really a fan of the production. I feel like it wastes all the good songs, but I've learned to listen past that. I love this album in its own way, but I'll always have mixed feelings about it.
Favourite song: Underneath The Stars
Least favourite song: Switch
You know I am weak for their gloomy stuff… This record is beautiful. Exactly what early spring sounds like to me.
Favourite song: Maybe Someday
Least favourite song: The Loudest Sound
This record gets so much hate and, honestly, I get it. But please… Just like the 1991 album ‘Wish’, I feel like people hear one pop song on the album and they start underestimating the whole thing. This is obviously not their best work, but have you ever heard ‘Want’, ‘This Is A Lie’, ‘Jupiter Crash’, ‘Numb’, ‘Trap’, ‘Treasure’ & ‘Bare’? Those songs are all absolutely amazing. If they ... read more
I know this album is pretty mainstream, but believe me, for all the wrong reasons. ‘Friday I’m In Love’ is sadly the reason why most people even know this album… But can we talk about how many hauntingly beautiful songs there are on here? Tracks like ‘Apart’, ‘Trust’ and ‘End’ are so heartbreaking and keep me coming back for more. As I’ve said in many The Cure reviews, I love their somber work. This album is criminally ... read more
Wonderful record. Robert Smith knows how to write the most gut-wrenching love songs and it shows. A bit cheerful but also very sad and dreamy, perfect for a melancholic summer.
