I Updated review: This album is simply genius. It combines post punk and shoegaze to create a desolate yet futuristic album experience like no other. This album is unbelievably hopeless, detailing themes such as nihilism, existential dread, and, well, death. The soundscape is dark, moody, and at times loud. Overall “Deathconsciousness” is one of the most masterful blends of genres, creating not one of the best albums of the 2000’s era, but of all time.
