Despite minor bloat throughout the tracklist, this is Coles shining achievement in terms of his discography
After 5 years since my initial listen, I can confidently say that Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp a Butterfly”holds up as one of the most brilliantly crafted and timely hip hop albums in the history of the genre. It is an absolute landmark for music as a whole, and deserves all of the praise it gets. Additionally, this album was the initial spark that got me interested in hip hop and soul music in the first place. It changed my entire perspective on music and helped me realize that ... read more
Coziest album ever? Phil Elverums shining jewel in one of the all time great discographies. Absolute mastapiece
I Updated review: This album is simply genius. It combines post punk and shoegaze to create a desolate yet futuristic album experience like no other. This album is unbelievably hopeless, detailing themes such as nihilism, existential dread, and, well, death. The soundscape is dark, moody, and at times loud. Overall “Deathconsciousness” is one of the most masterful blends of genres, creating not one of the best albums of the 2000’s era, but of all time.
Also Earthmover is one ... read more
Second sleep is the best song they have ever released. Star eyes is amazing as well.
Second sleep: 10/10
Star eyes: 9.5/10
My all-time favorite Pink Floyd album. Wish you were here and the first part of Shine On You Crazy Diamond are top 20 songs of all time. The best album of the 70’s
This song is truely special. Reminds me of times when I had little to no worries. Its sound defined the 2000’s indie scene, very reminiscent of the Smashing Pumpkins. When the song picks up halfway through you know your listening to one of the best songs ever made.
Handfull of songs begin to sound very similar, however there are many standouts that are among Freddie Gibbs’ finest work.
One of the most heartbreaking yet beautiful albums ever made. Best slowcore album ever. Nobody is changing my mind.
3 years ago Quadeca re-invented himself with his expermiental opus “I didn’t mean to haunt you”
Today he drops what very well could be one of the best albums of the decade.
The beats. The rapping. The chemistry. Just phenomenal all the way through
This album is a damn masterpiece. Massive attack truely made a timeless album—a perfect blend of dark moody trip hop and haunting vocals. Each track is hypnotic and heavy, building a dark atomosphere, creating constant tension and underlying sadness, but it’s so engaging, it is impossible to turn off. Mezzanine serves as not only one of the best albums of the 90’s, but one of the best albums ever.
Though only 3 years after being released Ants from up there continues to stand as a landmark for art rock. Each song is so musically dense and layered and slowely builds to emotional and rich climaxes. The album is heavy, but if you give it enough listens, it is incredibly rewarding, and serves as a remarkable send off to the pervious lead singer Isaac Wood.
Considering Ants from out there is the best album of the decade so far, I was expecting something pretty good. However with Isaac leaving as the lead singer I was curious about what direction the band would go next. “Forever Howlong” is a grand and warm album soundwise and overall somewhat uplifting compared to AFUT which was beyond tragic in comparison.
