Unpopular opinion: I think we’re sleeping on some of the classic AOR bands. Journey, Toto, Styx.. these groups had incredible musicians and wrote songs that have endured for decades. Yeah, they were commercially successful, but that doesn’t diminish the quality. Even Pitchfork has started revisiting these albums and today Hysteria is a solid example.
