Ninush - Stardoll

Very pretty, she definitely has something special brewing rn.

Swans - I Am a Tower

After listening to it a few times I can confidently say that Swans is about to release the hardest post-rock album of the year.

Maruja - Aon

Aight give me more of this mister Maruja thanks

The Strokes - The New Abnormal

It's peak, goodbye.

Hermit and the Recluse - Orpheus vs. the Sirens

Listened to this originally back in 2023 and really enjoyed it, decided to come back to it and man it's even better than I remember it. Ka really left us with some incredible music. Legend, RIP <3.

Dean Blunt - 100

If I could rate this 200 I would, but I guess 100 is enough.

Mac Miller - Balloonerism
90

I was already familiar with Mac's Balloonerism, but I never really listened to it because I first wanted to get more acquainted with the rest of his publicly available discography.

When I started listening to this, I was expecting it to be more like Faces, and while there are quite a few similarities between it and Balloonerism, Balloonerism is very much its own thing.

The tracks I loved most were "DJ's Chord Organ," "Shangri-La," "Funny Papers," ... read more

Jeff Buckley - Grace

I've been listening to this for the past month or two and I really didn't expect to fall in love with it as much as I did.

One of the most amazing rock albums of all time, easily. Also that three track run "So Real", "Hallelujah" and "Lover, You Should've Come Over" is insane.

On the reissue "Forget Her" is also just the most beautiful and devastating song I've heard in a while, so catchy and depressing, I love it.

We Lost The Sea - Departure Songs

Man this album is really something, from start to finish this album kept me interested. Some amazing post-rock, a must listen for fans of gybe, swans...

Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal
90

Very pleasant listen, was not sure about his voice on the first song but I quickly grew to appreciate its roughness. Overall very fulfilling album that scratches the folk itch I've been having as of late.

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
90

2024 just keeps getting crazier with all these releases, I mean thinking about it we got MGMT, Billie Eilish, Magdalena Bay, Quadeca, GYBE, Geordie Greep, Jpeg, Vince Staples, Jamie xx, The Smile, Charli and it keeps going on.

Like DAMN and then we get Tyler and still 2 months before the end of the year.

Anyways moving onto the album it is great, just classic Tyler doing his thing. Lyrically more mature than any other past project and even slightly more experimental which was awesome.

Act Tragic - Hope You're Doing Better

Pretty nice and depressing, just the way I like it.

Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
90

First impressions, definitely less experimental (and creepy) than Geogaddi but it still retains the same level of calmness and production complexity.

While I can't really pinpoint one specific track that I would call my favourite, I'll say that the vibes that this entire record gives off are immaculate, and dare I say even perfect.

Only reason I'm not giving this a higher score, or possibly even a 100, is because at the moment there aren't the same "stick-out" ... read more

Geordie Greep - The New Sound

2024 has been an incredibly overwhelming year for me music wise. We got so much amazing music that I don't even know what to listen to anymore.

This album is just simply put very very good. "Magician" is magical (haha funny), "Holy, Holy" is fun and witty, "Motorbike" is bombastic and "If You Are But a Dream" is the perfect way to end an album of this kind.

Overall an incredible experience, after listening to it I'm questioning what my ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "NO TITLE AS OF 13 FEBRUARY 2024 28,340 DEAD"
95

Godspeed You! Black Emperor is back after 3 years and they delivered one of the most beautiful and satisfying post-rock albums released in the last 5 years. Certainly their best since "Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!", absolutely amazing.

"Babys in a thundercloud" has these incredibly powerful roaring guitars that really make the entire experience that much more immersive.

HIGHLY recommend this album to anyone and everyone who loves post-rock, it can't get much ... read more

Jamie xx - In Waves

Enjoyable listen, imo slightly worse than In Colour but still really well produced from start to finish

JOBA - Russell Boring

Joba being Joba, what's there to say. Beautiful from start to finish with some superb production.

"If you take a shot every time you say "crescendo-core" , "no copyright royalty free" or "pretty good/great album tho" in this review you'd probably be blackout drunk. Also kinda confused as to why you gave this a 70 but according to your track ratings to album is 84 lol. Very confusing half assed review but cool that you gave it a listen."
