At last, LE SSERAFIM released their sophomore album. After early highs, middling inbetweens, and a recent run of musical terrorism, LE SSERAFIM came with up with another album. It is a mix of all the facets of LE SSERAFIM until now, but basically all of them have become horrid, nightmarish ear terrorising versions of what they once were.
There are forgettable and bland tracks that remind of their post-antifragile pre-spaghetti era. And there are ear nukes that are so bad they alone should be ... read more
ILLIT very much came back with this project, and this time they struck gold. This EP harbors their best songs ever, and despite its single, "It's Me" being pretty stupid, the rest of the tracks work very well. But as artists, "MAMIHLAPINATAPAI" does nothing to push ILLIT forward, and still keeps them in the shadow of other musicians.
"GRWM" is good, but it does sound like the "Super Real Me" reject its been confirmed to be.
"It's Me" ... read more
the song is not good y'all are crazy. it's french radio slop, has no actual uniqueness to it, sounds like a reject and unfinished demo + fck israel
This is rich man, a song that felt tame and unexplorative, but worse. The songs goes nowhere, it just is. Quite literally the definition of "song of all time"
this is so fcking great idk what y'all are on about, sounds like old katy perry but on drugs
7th review of my IVE DEEP DIVE (relistens):
After the forward thinking "IVE SWITCH", there was no clear idea of what IVE would do next. Further go down the ambitious route of pushing KPOP's sound forward? Retreat to their previously successful, but tired sound? Try sounds and genres they had not yet tried?
They chose option 2 and 3 with "IVE EMPATHY", which unfortunately was a regression for IVE. For the most part, they either do songs reminiscent of past efforts, or ... read more
6th review of my IVE DEEP DIVE (relistens after some years)
This is an EP i initially despised. I found that the sound IVE explored on "I'VE MINE" were a much better sonic direction for them, and i still do. But relistening to this, this project is overall stronger than that one, even if the highlights are far weaker. This ep has some new sounds for IVE, and i think most of them actually worked well but most importantly, it has AMBITION. It clearly wants to push the needle ... read more
5th review of my IVE DEEP DIVE (relistens after some years):
With an actual project released IVE had many paths to go sonically, but a mini album was expected. "I'VE IVE" was incohesive, and sounded like a playlist, but all these sounds displayed many faces of IVE, that could be used for future projects. "I'VE MINE" explores some of those sounds in a much more fleshed out way, all combining into a cute EP, with 2 really strong singles, and a couple of mid songs ... read more
4th review of my IVE DEEP DIVE (relistens after some years) - this one is a longer one, i have a LOT to say:
Off of their best release yet, IVE had to release a longer project. At this point, they had only had single albums (6 songs in 1,5 years). It left the impressions IVE were not capable of releasing an actual full project with entirely good songs and a cohesive identity. That's where their first full album comes in.
It's a great project in my opinion. It's full of great ... read more
3rd review of my IVE DEEP DIVE (relistens):
Post "LOVE DIVE" and "ELEVEN", IVE had explored most of the chique dark pop they became know for, and a change was needed. "After LIKE" does that. It fcking blows everything out of the water, but mostly due to its BABILONIC title track.
"After LIKE" is my favorite kpop song ever, and one of my faves in music overall. There is quite literally nothing it could have done better, except for the fact it should have ... read more
2nd review of my IVE DEEP DIVE (relistens):
The first comeback was a high stake for IVE after such a well perfoming and received debut, but "LOVE DIVE" most certainly outdid their debut in basically all aspects. Their musical identity got stronger, the songs got better and their visual identity started ot materialize.
On to the music, "LOVE DIVE" is basically the perfect kpop song. It takes the chique sound of "ELEVEN", removes the turkish influences, and makes ... read more
1st review of my IVE DEEP DIVE (relistens):
IVE's debut was certainly a monumental one, and this single album demonstrates that pretty easily. "ELEVEN" is just a very solid track all around, thechorus is super catchy, and the verses are very underrated, the best parts of the song. The production is great, the latin influence and chique sound worked perfectly for them. "Take It" is a satisfying b-side that matches the title track's sound, but it's definitely ... read more
8th review of my LE SSERAFIM deep dive:
Last project of my deep dive, and the best of them all. They started out with a bang; we fell down a whle lot until 2026, but looking back to this, they had it all. The production here is exquisite, the best of their career, and their talent comes out a whoole lot more obviously here (vocally, i do believe that is because of Garam, who had the best voice by far, but unfortunately, the kpop industry decided to cancel her).
The intro is cute, pretty ... read more
7th review of my LE SSERAFIM deep dive:
Back to the early days, LE SSERAFIM's second EP hit like a fcking truck. No misses, everything is straight up hits.
"The Hydra" is their best dance oriented intro, but not much more than that. "ANTIFRAGILE" rode the latin beat trend Kpop had for a bit, but it's done in such a tasteful way, it doesn't really feel like it. The production is great, and their voice, despite being limited clearly, fits the track like a ... read more
6th review of my LE SSERAFIM DEEP DIVE (last thoughts beforing heading back to their first two projects and finish this off)
Retire atp, wtf is this. Spaghetti turned LE SSERAFIM into a joke, just like "Gnarly" did to KATSEYE, and both groups continued to release straight up bullshit. It's depressing to see how far they could go from their early days, and to see how bad the music can get, but also the members abilities themselves, their vocals have degraded, so have their ... read more
5th review of my LE SSERAFIM DEEP DIVE:
New review (part of their discography deep dive) -> This is the most disappoting release they could have done post HOT. That EP, gave me hope that we could possibly be back on track with "FEARLESS" and "ANTIFRAGILE" quality levels of releases. Instead they released this horrendous shit, most likely inspired by the success of their fellow group, KATSEYE's goofy ass ragebaity brainrot track "Gnarly". ... read more
4th review of my LE SSERAFIM DEEP DIVE:
The comeback i desperately needed from them. It doesn't try that much new stuff, but it does its simple sound very well."Born Fire" is more of the same intro stuff they keep doing, and atp it's getting boring, this one is ok, but "Crazy"'s intro was better. "HOT" is a cute pop track, that is very pleasant to hear. It's reminiscent of some of the bsides on "Unforgiven" but actually done right. ... read more
