Ok, this settles that I have found my favorite metal band of all time, and possibly one of my favorite bands overall. Their music is undeniably perfect when it comes to sentimentality and quality.
Took me a while to rate this but I eventually did, and man oh man is this stunning. Truly one of the best shoegaze albums I have ever heard in my life.
Seems only fitting that I give this a review because it is so good.
Those genres do not do it justice, because this record is genuinely amazing.
This is so unbelievably good, and I want to hear it so many times over. Add this to the niche spacecore list, granted I do not think it is niche at all.
I think we all expected this, and I think I can consider Gris to be my favourite metal band already. There is something about their music that I cannot help but love, and though it is a pain because I do want to be a bit more picky with my 10s, it is impossible with perfect albums like this.
Now this is a really good Post-Hardcore record, and I think it should be regarded as one of the pinnacles of the genre. Though, yes, I am not too well-versed in the scene of post-hardcore, I think I know it enough to tell what albums can act as an inspiration for future generations of the scene, and this is one of them.
A good effort from TDK Kanal as this can be a tricky genre to make sound "good", and I will say it does a pretty good job at that. I will say that it gets excessively loud and obnoxious near the end of the project, but if you took the first 3 or 4 songs and made an album sounding like that, it would end up being really good. You guys should try this out and let them know.
I don't think this record needs any introduction: It drags, is not fun, and only really has one good feature on it (Doc Ice), like come on.
Um, this was suprising. I would expect this to be what Blue Giant sounds like (I have not read Blue Giant, all I know is that it is a really good manga), anyway yeah this was wow.
Though they may be fictional, the power they push through their music definitely isn't. This is nothing short of fun and beautiful.
Dedicating this one to @jalian and I do not know why I have avoided Slayer for so long. I shouldn't have and I need to listen to more (then again, I only recently started liking damn near every genre of metal).
Knocked Loose who? Nah fr though this was amazing, and really vibrant in terms of how strong the metalcore aspects are. Not to mention the final track, like wow.
Well wouldja look at that, I fuck with this project too. Seriously though this is also amazing, and I love the ambience at certain times. I understand why @zaphiro has this at a 100, and I might too once I listen to more of Neurosis.
Huh, well ain't this a thumb sticking out. A lot of the good black metal I listen to often is quite old, but this is on par, if not better than most that I have heard. I wanna give this a relisten or two because I have a feeling this will grow on me (and I want it to).
Alright yeah yeah bring out the jokes of the heavy fans and throw your stones, but this truly is one of the greatest metal albums out there. Though yes I can see why some people think this is overrated, you still have to give it its flowers for being one of the pinnacles of sludge metal.
I might have a unique experience with this album compared to a lot of other people who are listening to this, and that is because this is the first Neurosis project I have ever heard, and I have to say that this sounded magnificent (as an atmosludge metal enjoyer myself).
