a completely bizarre experience that is absolutely not for everybody. especially that second track.
for some reason djed gives me the nostalgic feeling of when I was 5 or 6 in my bedroom putting in a dvd in my portable dvd player and getting to the dvd menu. other than that, the songs are really atmospheric and it feels like an early aphex twin album being converted into post-rock form.
"certified lover boy, certified pedophile" is honestly crazy. he didn't even let the man breathe after meet the grahams. kendrick is not holding back these punches.
oh my god drake just got absolutely destroyed. this was frickin brutal. that last line was so bonkers.
amazing. even with the first minute being a sampled field recording of just the sounds of nature.
really good tracks that are short and sweet. I just wish there was more stuff in it and that it didn't have an 11 minute track where it just played all the songs previously in the album but reversed. that felt a little lazy and I don't really get why that was in the album.
imo, if down had a bit of those louder parts last longer, I would have liked more than I do already. it would feel more satisfying. other than that, this album is such a vibe to listen to for most of the part. even if some of the chord progressions on the songs and the flow of the album feel a bit too repetitive and slow.
there are so many good things with this album. especially talking sh*t about a pretty sunset, dramamine, custom concern, breakthrough, exit does not exist, tundra/desert, and ionizes and atomizes. I also love the parts where the vocalism starts yelling and screaming. this whole album along with the lonesome crowded west feels raw and genuine.
some parts feel a bit repetitive but there are a bunch of good songs along with amazing vocals and unreal instrumentals. the songs that I feel represent this album are crash into me and #41.
so many emotional parts in this album along with mark hollis' incredible singing.
