I discovered Magdelana Bay in 2020 thanks to YouTube recommended and they have been my favourite band for a long time now, seeing their growth and blow up, at least among music nerds, has has been interesting and exciting for me. I have too much to say when it comes to Imaginal Disk, and I might get too personal for my liking if I were to go into detail. I'm safe saying this will be my favourite album for a long time, I genuinely love everything about it.
One of my personal favourite albums and one I can confidently say will only gain more appreciation over time, the music is just too good for it not to. I find myself captivated throughout and really just engaged with the sound of this, the opening track is explosive but you also have more laid back meditative jams like "Do Nothing" which is a personal favourite of mine. I can't gush over this enough, really feels like discovering a hidden gem, it's exciting to recommend this.
This album has really grown on me, an underrated 2024 release and a future Indie Pop classic if you ask me. A bit all over the place but it does it in a really fun way and I feel like every song structure and idea here is so well thought out and executed that it's easy to look past how scatter brained it can be. The first 4 tracks are especially strong and it reaches those heights again a few times over it's run time. I just find this so easy to put on, it's a memorable album.
Such a cute EP, I really love this it's great spring music, this has lots of charm and whimsy and makes me want to hear more from Ninush. There's thematic and sonic comparisons you can make to "Forever Howlong" but it leans more into the Twee Pop and Chamber sound, it carves out it's own identity. Something else I like about this is it sounds kind of, medieval? I don't know, it's awesome. I love this almost as much as I possibly could for 16 minutes of music.
This album deserves way more attention, I truly feel like this is a hidden Indie Rock gem of 2026 that a lot of people on here would enjoy. I found myself engaged with the musical ideas throughout, this felt very fresh and never dull to me, the song structures were well thought out, production was really good and the vocals felt spot on for every song, also something about this album just felt really grand to me. Excited to listen to this again, I hope more people check it out.
I'm a bit surprised this hasn't gained more of a fan base, I feel like this has really standout Indie Folk instrumentation and production, there's a lot of great memorable ideas here. I guess I'm not a big fan of how some of the songs and the album overall ends, sometimes it feels like things just kind of finish unceremoniously, but that's a bit overcritical because I really do enjoy every song individually. Looking forward to giving this more listens!
