Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There
NR

This is seriously one of the greatest things I've ever heard. Emotionally, it moves me in a way that not many albums can, which I believe to be a testament in part to Isaac Wood's incredible vocals, which range from frail and delicate, cracking with feeling, to absolutely enormous in the climax of Basketball Shoes, still being full with the range of emotion displayed across the album. I also think the beautiful instrumentation, with the use of sax and its unique and genius combination with ... read more

Muse - Origin of Symmetry
NR

Strong album from Muse with a handful of standouts unrivalled by much of their discography. It loses me a bit as it goes on, with a couple of misses for me, but the initial run of tracks is the best thing I've heard from Muse, especially the anthemic New Born and Plug In Baby, along with the epic Citizen Erased (my favourite Muse song).

The Strokes - The Singles, Vol 1
NR

A great collection of some of The Strokes' best early songs along with some dearly missed singles added to streaming.
Finally Spotify Wrapped can show how much I listen to I'll Try Anything Once. Hawaii and the The Clash cover are also great.

"@MaxsMusicTaste for sure his writing is so dense I even pick up on new things after like 100 listens. Time travel is present in at least Counterclockwise, Pitchforks & Halos, Golgotha, Make No Mistake and Born Alone, which makes it surprising that so many reviewers overlook it. My interpretation was that it allows him to present past events as if they were happening right now, which is a metaphor for his PTSD that makes him relive past experiences and struggle to move on from them."
