FKA twigs - EUSEXUA

Pretty frickin' good. Simple as.

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA

Score Edit: 70 --> 60

Ben Beal - Clumsy

Bowed metal still cuts.

Favorites: loser, uzumaki, weeping willow, camp rock, snow angels, wicked city, sunken village, dreamland, the sidewalk ended

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
80

Very fun and very good. Yes.

Favs: wacced out murals, squabble up, luther, hey now, reincarnated, tv off, dodger blue, peekaboo, heart pt.6, gloria

Least Fav: gnx (except for the part when kendrick says he’s loving it; I don’t know what he’s loving but I like the way he says it, the rest of the song sucks though I think)

Jack White - No Name
90

frickin sweet

Grant Green - Visions
85

absolute banger

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk
85

Imaginal Disk’s somewhat weak start works its way into a multi-track catharsis I’ve rarely experienced, the emotional peaks of which brought genuine tears and thorough enjoyment. A chipped marble of still illustrious beauty.

Favs: Image, Death & Romance, Fear, Sex, Vampire in the Corner, Watching T.V., Tunnel Vision, Love Is Everywhere, That’s My Floor, Cry For Me, Angel on a Satellite, The Ballad of Matt & Mica

Least Fav: She Looked Like Me!

Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth
70

Overall quite good but more of a mixed bag than I was hoping for after a few incredible cuts from the first half. Great explosiveness balanced with more intimate and introspective moments, though I'd be remiss not to mention the somewhat grating singing.

Favs: You Know What You Are, The Collector, The Hand That Feeds, Love Is Not Enough, Every Day Is Exactly The Same, Getting Smaller, The Line Begins To Blur, Right Where It Belongs

Least Fav: Only

George Clanton - Slide
100

I have listened to this album at least 10 times now. I can't find anything I don't love. The flow, the production, the creativity, the singing, I love this project to pieces. It may not blow everyone away but it holds a special place in my music-loving heart.

Favs: All'em

Least Fav: None

C418 - Excursions
85

Very solid album from C418. Can’t wait to return to this project again and again.

Charli xcx - BRAT
75

The songs that click with me click pretty hard but the rest are just kind of there. As a whole it’s still good but far more of a sine wave than Charli’s previous records. Maybe I’ll come around but as of the third listen it’s underwhelming.
EDIT:
Ok it goes pretty hard actually. I think what I initially took for bland or silly pop actually has enough maturity and creativity to make a compelling listen. Plus a good chunk of this album goes hard.

TOOL - Undertow
90

Best Tool album

The Beatles - Revolver
70

Definitely has some crazy highs but I didn’t love it nearly as much as Abbey Road. Worth a listen but a little disappointing if you’re expecting another opus.

SOPHIE - OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES
90

She really made a whole sonic universe for this album. I’ve been listening to this for years and it’s only gotten better.

Favs: Ponyboy, Faceshopping, Is It Cold in the Water?, Infatuation, Pretending, Immaterial, Whole New World / Pretend World

Least Fav: Not Okay

Against All Logic - 2017 - 2019
95

I enjoy this far more than is reasonable. The neural pathways I’ve etched from listening to this are deep; listening to this entire album is like thinking.

Steve Roach - Structures from Silence
80

Beautiful ambient for night walks, stargazing and romanticizing the space between.

feeble little horse - Girl with Fish
80

Consistently great.

Favs: Freak, Tin Man, Steamroller, Paces, Sweet, Healing, Pocket, Heavy Water

Least Fav: Heaven
