This album is criminally underrated in Prince's discography. It's definitely on a level with Purple Rain. In my eyes, Prince really revolutionized himself with this album, crafting more of a rock record than a funk/r&b record. The great guitar riffs and melodies stand out on this album, and it's a shame that "Tamborine" is included on this album. Because without that, this would've exceeded Purple Rain.

But you also got to acknowledge Purple Rain's influence and significance, ... read more

I don't know if it's because I'm deaf on my left ear, but this sounded very average. Dominic sounds so much better when he raps, and I genuinely think it would be better for his music if he incorporated it some more in his work, so it doesn't sound so bland and senseless.

I will never forgive Rocky for not putting the original version of A$AP Forever on this 😔

Aside from that, TESTING delivers some very unique tracks, that will forever be controversial in Rocky's discography. But you can't deny that Rocky's attitude, persona and flow will always shine, whenever he spits. Rocky is superior, and he knows it, so he proved it by releasing a hip-hop album, that for most parts, doesn't sound like one.

Lyrics.... not great,
Production wise.... not great,
Carti's flow.... not good,
But somehow, Carti manages to make this sound good. He's getting carried a little by the features tho.

I've never truly appreciated this album... until now. Ye is a damn genius. This project still sounds so fresh, even in 2020. Kanye is the king of samples, and he delivers some beautiful stories and flows. Humility with a spice of braggadocio.

And I must admit, Hey Mama made me tear up a little.

Denzel's best songs are on here, and it just shows how significant his potential is. The album is a little inconsistent imo, but still excellent.

KOD is a great concept album, where Cole depicts our everyday routines as drugs; money, photoshop and unfaithfulness. It's a significant drop in quality for Cole's previous work, but definitely not as bad as many paint it to be.

I have much respect for Taylor Swift, but this is not how to make a surprise album. I mean what does this album add to her discography? Other than a collection of songs that people can listen to as they go to bed?

I'm so happy for Logic. He's really going out with a bang with this one. The production here is unreal; addicting beats, mesmerizing flows and great lyrics! I'm not a big fan of the outros/skits at the end of every song (it's a complete counterfeit of Midnight Marauders by ATCQ imo), and the lack of hooks can easily make some songs forgettable. But this is a must-listen, not just for the average rap fan, but for every music fan! Happy retirement Logic, what a way to go out.

It's a very basic trap album. 21 flows smoothly and is very consistent throughout the project. Not really worth revisiting except for a few standout tracks. (a lot, out for the night & can't leave without it)

This is perhaps Ellie's best album. There's beautiful production on the majority of the project. Ellie's vocals are a little off and sound very bland at times, and to be completely fair, most of these tracks are too basic and boring for my taste. There's no standout track (ok maybe apart from the title track), I'm not eager to come back and listen to any of these songs for a second time. They feel dispensable and wasteful. With that said, I can totally see how someone could love and revisit ... read more
