Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake (Deluxe) - LUV vs. The World 2
63

Compared to Eternal Atake, Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World 2 isn’t as solid, but it still has some good features and punchy production to make it enjoyable.

Favorite Tracks: Yessirkiii, I Can Show You, Trap This Way (This Way), No Auto, Leaders

Least Favorite Track: Strawberry Peels (hook is very repetitive)

21 Savage, Offset & Metro Boomin - Without Warning
70

While 21 Savage’s delivery is often boring, Without Warning is an overall unique trap project with great production and performances by Offset. (occasionally 21 Savage)

Favorite Tracks: Ghostface Killers, Ric Flair Drip, My Choppa Hate, Nightmare, Disrespectful

Least Favorite Track: Still Serving (21 Savage is really boring on this track)

Shabazz Palaces - Black Up
85

Black Up may have the occasionally weak track, but overall it is a very solid experimental hip hop record that has fantastic production and vocal deliveries.

Favorite Tracks: Free Press and Curl, An Echo From the Hosts That Profess Infinitum, Are You. Can You. Were You? (Felt), Youlogy, Recollections of the Wraith, Yeah You, Swerve... the Reeping of All That is Worthwhile (Noir Not Withstanding)

Least Favorite Track: A Treatease Dedicated To the Avian Airess From North East Nubis (1000 ... read more

MellowHype - BlackenedWhite
73

Hodgy and Left Brain team up for BlackenedWhite (as MellowHype), a sometimes awkward, but overall satisfying rap record.

Favorite Tracks: Gunsounds, Brain, 64, Loaded, Deaddeputy, F666 The Police

Least Favorite Track: Circus (the hook is obnoxious)

AJJ - Good Luck Everybody
51

Good Luck Everybody is very tedious in songwriting. A majority of the tracks here are just regurgitated political views. The instrumentation and vocals do make up for the unoriginal songwriting, but not enough to make the record really enjoyable. Sadly, a weak album by AJJ, compared to previous material.

Favorite Tracks: A Poem, Feedbag, Loudmouth,
Your Voice, As I Remember It

Least Favorite Track: Psychic Warfare (almost intolerable songwriting)

Action Bronson - White Bronco
62

White Bronco may be Action Bronson’s most uninspired record because of the slightly lazy looped instrumentation throughout it (it can still be good on some tracks), but it is still a commendable album that has some great tracks, thanks to Bronson’s solid vocals and lyricism.

Favorite Tracks: Irishman Freestyle, White Bronco, Prince Charming, Telemundo

Least Favorite Track: Picasso’s Ear (very tedious instrumentation)

Lil Uzi Vert - Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World
74

Lil Uzi Vert’s sometimes weak vocals are made up for with punchy production and fun vocal performances elsewhere.

Favorite Tracks: Canadian Goose, Hi Roller, Money Longer, Ps & Qs, Team Rocket

Least Favorite Track: Baby Are You Home (vocals are very lax)

Little Women - Throat
90

I feel like occasionally, the instrumentation is safe compared to other hectic moments on the record, like with Throat IV and some of Throat V, but overall Throat is a great Avant-Garde Jazz album.

Favorite Tracks: Throat I, Throat II, Throat III, Throat VI

Least Favorite Track: Throat VII (literally just annoying throat noises)

Hail Mary Mallon - Bestiary
84

Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, and DJ Big Wiz collaborate and release Bestiary as Hail Mary Mallon, a well-performed abstract hip-hip record on all fronts.

Favorite Tracks: Jonathon, Krill, Dollywood, 4AM, Hang Ten, Whales, Merlin, Picture Day, Kiln, Octoberfest

Least Favorite Track: The Soup (production is really tedious)

91

Nails’ debut record is a loud, energy packed, and chaotic take on powerviolence.

Favorite Tracks: Conform, Scum Will Rise, Your God, Suffering Soul, Unsilent Death, Traitor, I Will Not Follow, No Servant, Scapegoat

Least Favorite Track: Depths if I had to choose

Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial
97

Teens of Denial is undoubtedly the best indie rock album of the 2010’s (besides Twin Fantasy) because of its amazing garage rock influenced instrumentation, vocals, and songwriting. A phenomenal record, that definitely deserves a listen.

Favorite Tracks: All, except Unforgiving Girl (She’s Not An)

Least Favorite Track: Unforgiving Girl (She’s Not An), (songwriting is redundant)

6ix9ine - DAY69
79

New Score: 79

After coming back to this mixtape, I realize that it is really enjoyable. It is just a really fun, energetic, and unique take on trap. 6ix9ine’s style of yelled trap is quite remarkable. He’s obviously not a lyrical mastermind or anything, but like someone such as Lil Pump or Playboi Carti, his music is just dumb fun. It’s simple, but immensely enjoyable at the same time.

Favorite Tracks: Billy, Gummo, 93, Kooda, Buba, Mooky, Chocolaté

El-P - I'll Sleep When You're Dead
98

I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead is one of the best rap albums of the 2000’s, that includes otherworldly production and intense vocals and songwriting.

Favorite Tracks: All, except Run The Numbers

Least Favorite Track: Run The Numbers (Aesop Rock’s contributing lyrics were repetitive and the electronic effect on his vocals brought down the track as well)

Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake
77

The love oriented tracks could’ve been a bit more enjoyable and less melodic, but this is Lil Uzi Vert’s best album to date. Almost all of the production on Eternal Atake is great and Lil Uzi Very has improved as a vocalist as well.

Favorite Tracks: Baby Pluto, Lo Mein, Silly Watch, POP, You Better Move, Homecoming, Bigger Than Life, Prices, Venetia, Secure The Bag

Least Favorite Track: I’m Sorry (melodic vocals were weak and the track is much weaker than others tracks on ... read more

Imagine Dragons - Evolve
45

Evolve isn’t as bad as some make it out to be, but a majority of the tracks are very generic pop rock, with bombastic choruses. There are still some tracks that are solid, but it’s not worth it to listen to the entire album to get to these tracks.

Favorite Tracks: Whatever It Takes, Believer, I’ll Make It Up To You, Yesterday

Least Favorite Track: Walking The Wire (overwhelmingly generic)

Foster the People - Torches
72

While Torches is definitely not the most developed and refined pop record ever, it is still a really good debut album that deserves a listen.

Favorite Tracks: Helena Beat, Pumped Up Kicks, I Would Do Anything for You, Houdini, Life on the Nickel, Warrant

Least Favorite Track: Don’t Stop (Color on the Wall), (a pretty forgettable and slightly plain pop track, that sounds like it would be in a commercial)

Fall Out Boy - M A N I A
22

What this album boils down to is extremely annoying and generic pop with an EDM influence. Fall Out Boy has never been a great band, but this is awful.

Favorite Track(s): Champion... (Maybe?)

Least Favorite Track: HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T (a track that really shows how generic and annoying this record is)

twenty one pilots - Blurryface
57

Blurryface’s main flaw is that many tracks follow the generic and uninspired pop formula. Still, many tracks have solid instrumentation, which makes up for its unoriginality.

Favorite Tracks: Ride, Doubt, We Don’t Believe What’s on TV, Not Today

Least Favorite Track: The Judge (the vocals on the hook are ear-piercing)

AJJ - People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World
94

AJJ tells of the dark reality of the world, accompanied by heavenly folk instrumentation. This is without a doubt, the best folk punk album of the 2000’s and possibly the best AJJ record.

Favorite Tracks: All, except Randy’s House

Least Favorite Track: Randy’s House (was really rushed and all over the place), also People could’ve been a little better of a closer, but it is still a good track.

MF DOOM - Operation: Doomsday
87

MF DOOM’s debut record is fantastic and was a great start to his career. My only complaint is that some of the production is needs improvement, but this doesn’t bring down the album down too much. The songwriting is great, as well as the samples in the production. The vocals are very straightforward and memorable too. Certainly one of the best hip hop albums of the late 1990’s.

Favorite Tracks: Doomsday, Rhymes Like Dimes, The Finest, Go with the Flow, Red and Gold, Who You ... read more
