A pretty and influential techno release that had my ears glued to the experience a good amount time. I love this kind of music too much when it hits just right as it does some in this album. Could be more consistent and concise, but it's not bad at all. Rather, it's good enough what I wanted it to be more than what it had to offer.
Recs:
- Mmm... Skyscraper I Love You
- Surfboy
- Spoonman
- Tongue
- River of Bass
- M. E.
Nirvana's wife certainly knows how to grunge though as others have already observed, this sound leans more into pop punk at times. Regardless it's a fun listen and I honestly would rather listen to this than her (sadly) dead husbands band.

- Jennifer's Body
- Credit in the Straight World
- Softer, Softest
- She Walks on Me
- I Think That I Would Die
Who do they think they are? The Feelies? Sorry, nerd band has been taken over a decade ago. Get an original idea guys geez!
I didn't get much from this other than the big hit and a couple other tracks. It's solid stuff but not much about it inspires me to want to return to it for further listens.
Recs:
- The World Has Turned and Left Mr Here
- Say it ain't So
- Holiday
- Only in Dreams
I'm so thankful that I grew to appreciate the slow and minimal to go along with the fast and maximal. This release is obviously of the former with its intentionality. A very relaxing and chill listen that eases and comforts.
Recs:
- Slide
- Lazy
- Lullaby
- Drag
- Rope
An easy going, fun, slightly sultry, yet very druggy house release that provides a casual fun time for all. It's very of its time but that adds to its nostalgic charm. Or it could be my soft spot for 90s club music talking.
Recs:
- River of Freedom
- Stay in Bed, Forget the Rest
- Call Me
- Music Selector is the Soul Reflector
- Picnic in the Summertime
- Apple Juice Kissing
- DMT (Dance Music Trance)
A slow, intentional, post rock release with some jazz elements. It isn't going to demand your attention with its quiet meek nature, but if you decide to listen in, you will be rewarded with a meditative, serene, atmospheric, satisfying soundscape that is well worth the time it takes up. It's slow but lush. The furthest thing from stale and boring that some may say from looking at the surface level and being dismissive. (Looks at myself from a year ago.) So yeah if you enjoy a slow ... read more

John Cena's original gimmick.
I'm seeing a lot of people here comparing this to the highly acclaimed Illmatic. And if this is any indication of what to expect from that legendary release... well, hopefully the stronger parts of this release (mostly the production for me) is reflected there as well. Otherwise it's going to be another case of me being that one guy not getting why this highly influential and legendary album is all that special to so many. Cause other than a number ... read more
I was familiar with Selena through watching that Jlo movie at Spanish class back in high school. I hardly paid attention to it past gawking at how hot Jlo was like the horny ass teenager I was. So almost a decade later I have finally listened to an album of hers. And I am not particularly impressed unfortunately. It seems pretty one note, Selena sounds kinda generic. It all kinds blends together and at the end I got little out of it. Respect to her legacy though and am saddened with how her ... read more
Some lovely acid jazz fusion with some soul with those vocals to top things off. Jamiroquai offers another quality listen with this one.

- Journey to Arnhemland
- Morning Glory
- Space Cowboy
We got punk, jazz, a whole lotta funk, rap rock, and even throat singing on this hip hop album. It certainly keeps things fresh and interesting and the listener on their toes. The craziest thing is that it's so well executed that the genre shifts don't feel jarring at all. Very impressed with this album release.

Some decent southern hip hop. Enjoyed a few tracks but was indifferent to most of it.

That's the weird blue haired guy from that monkey band doing in this fuzzy band?
To be serious for a second this is amazing. So much so that I considered it an album that the Beatles at their creative and passionate heights would have made if they were in the nineties. And I can't think of any higher compliment! I never thought that I would ever hear this kind of magic ever again since I finished Abbey Road. Highly recommend you check this out if you are a fan of weird British ... read more
