-i always found Vessel as the album representing the soul of twenty one pilots as a band, their sound, their songwriting, their electricity at times and beautiful simplicity at other times.
-this album sounds very passionate and expressive yet it isn't too much, perfectly balanced.
-an incredible opener paving the way for the album's lyrical theme of the constant fight between the writer and his head and a beautiful closer declaring Truce.

this is all over the place
very bad mixing, horrendous electronics throughout most of the album, lacking good sounding acoustics (drums sound like shit i think they are electronic) and plenty of very bad vocal parts.
a huge downgrade from their previous Self Titled album, probably due to the departure of Chris and Nick, where Tyler was left with a dying band and had to somehow revive it (and it did but in an ugly way at first).

if I could describe the self titled album with one word, it would definitely be "raw".
it's highs are the most emotionally raw tracks like "Addict with a Pen" and "Trapdoor" and many others tbh, where the amount of passion and emotion put into the writing and the vocal performances by Tyler throughout this album impressively covers for the obvious low quality of production and mixing and just lack of musical experience in general.
