Despite mixed reviews this record is right up my alley, excited for their new release.
This album to me just felt like that one part in 21st century schizoid man on repeat, loved it.
On Saturation I, we’re given what I think is one of the greatest back halves of any album ever. However, I’m not as high on the first half as other BROCKHAMPTON fans are, and in all honesty, I prefer the softer side of the band. That’s not to say the first half is bad, but the second half of this project is absolutely fantastic, and “SWIM” is a top 10 song of all time for me.
I feel like this project is a bit over hated just because it’s not in your face like the other BH albums, but were provided with a bunch of great short melodic tracks closed out with some good finished songs at the back half of the mixtape. Overall would return to some of these songs. And that’s all we really can ask for out of a mixtape right?
I think when it's all said and done, this album really has the chance to be at the top my year end list, a great project with a lot of passion, although some of the super long post rock stuff can drag in the later middle area in the album Cáliz brings it all together. Amazing start as well. Awesome stuff
A slow burn with deep instrumentation, much better than spirit of Eden and that’s saying something.
