A confusing masterpiece. Many think its just noise (which it is, yes, but what is music but arranged noise?), but i think metal machine music is actually an intriguing album. I have not yet listened to it fully, but from what i have heard of it to this point, it is a surpisingly good album. Maybe not a perfect one, maybe not one i would listen to too often, but i like the intrigue of it. Atom Heart Mother is quite underrated. The title track is one of the greatest songs composed, but not as good as Echoes. Still, it carries the album quite a bit. The ominousness of Sheep, the acoustic bookends that are Pigs on the wing 1 and 2 really bring the album together, and not to even mention Dogs and Pigs (Three different ones). A great commentary on the state of the world at the time, which most of can be applied to today too. Extremely underappreciated work of ... read more
