On his 13th album Nas proves he can still do it better than most.
The easiest thing to compliment on the album is the production, all of the beats are really nice to listen too and I don't really have that much to say on it. I do like how on the track 'Rare' there are three separate beat switches.
Now while Nas brings his expert penmanship and rapping ability, some of the features are a little bit questionable. The Lauryn Hill feature is amazing and she may even outshine Nas himself, the same ... read more
Short and sweet, the new EP from Skepta shows once again how he has stayed at the forefront of the UK scene.
The EP gets off to a running start with the track 'Bellator' due to the high quality of beat and writing on the song. The only song that doesn't hit is 'Frontline' with Kid Cudi, the chorus is abhorrent with a very poor choice of autotune and the verse's don't do anything to salvage it. It becomes even more questionable when on the next track Skepta sings with a natural voice that ... read more
Grime veterans Jme, Frisco and Shorty being in Capo Lee for a mostly positive experience.
First things first, the production across the album is absolutely insane. Every single beat hits. There isn't really much to say about such a short project, that being said I do have a couple of issues.
The first is that most of the chorus are too long and this does hurt the replayability of the project. The second is that while for most of the verses each artists brings their all, but they sometimes ... read more
At time's feeling more like a diary than an album, Fredo's Sophomore project showcases the rappers growth as an artist.
First thing's first, with only eleven songs across the album it was imperative that Fredo came with bangers for all of them and I can say that for the most part he succeeds. The beats and production across the entire album is very good and enjoyable to listen to even on the tracks that Fredo doesn't quite bring his all. I feel all of the features across the project all serve ... read more
The third album from Polo G in three years, 'Hall of fame' begins to show cracks in the rappers discography.
The first thing to get out of the way is why are so many of the songs so short? It really gives the album a rushed feel when most songs are only long enough for two verses that aren't very long. This issue is even worse when a large majority of the songs begin to feel like filler, covering the same well trodden topics over average beats. That's not to say the album is outright bad, but ... read more
