yeah initially i just came for the house of leaves reference, but actually ended up liking this album
reminded me of that south park episode about sea creatures (i'm sorry)
I just love the way it sounds, the way it flows
It's so organic and lifeless at the same time, it's very relaxing but also gut wrenching
Especially loved these absolutely heartbreaking songs like 'Daydreaming' or 'True Love Waits', their placement on the tracklist (Daydreaming RIGHT after Burn The Witch can be considered as a fucking sneak attack, I was NOT prepared for that; and True Love Waits right after that long half-interlude half-song also caught me off ... read more
This album is classic, influential, very ahead of its time and so on, but I can't help with the fact that it's really fucking boring to me, idk, maybe it'll grow on me but it doesn't seems like so
And it's not even the trip-hop thing, I really enjoyed Endtroducing and Mezzanine, so there's must be something specific about Dummy that I didn't like
The contrast between this album and Pink Moon is so noticable it's depressing
If I had a nickel for every time a post-rock album has a 29 minute song with a long ass silence sequence in it, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, just weird that it happened twice
