Invent Animate have been slowly becoming one of my favorite bands ever since I checked out Greyview a few months ago. Since then, between their The Sun Sleeps EP and the singles to the album, this has been one of my most anticipated releases for this year so far and it does not disappoint in the slightest. It combines everything that I love about this style of music. The excellent riffs that are laced through every song and make every track distinct, the emotional catharsis, fantastic vocals ... read more
I've not really had much experience with grindcore and what I have listened to, I've not liked very well but clearly I've not been listening to the right grindcore because this is awesome. I definitely think that a part of it is just that my taste has been developing and changing and so now I'm more open to music in this style than before. Another part of it is just that the riffs here are insane and the guitar tone works so well, especially in Give Me The Painkiller and ... read more
Threw this on the car first listen and even my fiancee who doesn't usually have opinions on the music I play thought this was ass

The first single that I discovered this band with was Clawing out and I loved that song a lot, still do. It did have the unintentional side effect of putting an idea of what the group sounded like in my head and so to listen to the other singles closer to release, not have that expectation met, and then ... read more
One of the most uninteresting and repetitive metalcore albums I've heard. This band has no riffs but even if they did, you wouldn't be able to hear it because of how washed out everything is. Every song is structured and sounds exactly the same. Big choruses, down played verses, breakdown. The second half of the album somehow manages to suffer from this worse than the first half, to the point I thought that sections were being copy pasted between tracks.
This shit is so annoying man, none of the music here comes anywhere close to justifying this corny ass "storytelling". Even though I didn't really feel all that strongly towards Void Eternal, I could at least respect it for trying something new for him and bringing a lot of collaborators in the process. That's cool. Who asked for this though? What does this even do? Why does it exist? Is it possible for me to get my 41 minutes back?
