I often compare gybe and swans in my head as a comparison of the scope they try to achieve. Where gybe feels as though it is commenting on the state of the world; the ideals we can strive to, the acknowledgment of things lost and a future so bleak you can not help but wonder if there is anything you can do.

I really enjoyed the change of pace this album brought compared to other Death albums. While I love all their music, this album diverges the most from the general structure and writing they typically use.

We lost the sea is one of my favorite bands, and while this is a pretty big change of pace for them, I love this album regardless. Specifically really love how heavy the songs get, and I think this is probably the best inclusion of electronic into post rock I've ever heard. Really love everything going on here, for me it's on the same level as Departure Songs
