I cannot understate the importance this album has on me. I was introduced to David Berman's art by an old best friend, and as a result Ive always tied it to that person. It wasn't until I lost him, alongside all my other friends, that I found my own meaning within this album. It's truly a masterpiece; if someone who wasn't Berman wrote these lyrics, it would be their Magnum Opus, but for Berman it was just another fuckin tuesday man. I consider him unironically one of the ... read more
crazy how everyone switched up on this album in the last like 2 months. Apparently everyone on Tiktok has been listening and loving this album for "years", even though these people are like 14 years old. Whatever. I didnt even know about these guys really until like a couple months ago so i cant really say anything.
discourse and emos being emos put aside, this is a very very solid emo album and a staple of the genre for sure!
Pure fun, pure 2010s, pure Smosh energy. Gotta love it even if you personally can't get through a whole song (not me tho haahhaah #trainedEars)
Unironically been obsessed with this album recently. Not gonna lie I used to *hate* ISMFOF because the only song I heard was Crank That. I also didn't really appreciate -- specifically I didn't *know* how to appreciate -- metal and screamo vocals, and god fucking damn can these boys scream.... When i start a band i want my screams to ... read more
Title Fight and I have a really weird relationship. It took me a long time, like a really long time, to genuinely enjoy their music. Unfortunately they are one of those bands that you can definitely burn yourself out from if you listen to them and ONLY them for too long. But at the same time there's this oddly soothing essence from this album -- as well as Floral Green -- that makes me want to relisten almost daily.
I'm also learning guitar right now and this album is a HUGE ... read more
such an accessible Elliott Smith album. I didn't know much of his music at the time of listening, and this album showed me that his music is NOT all sad. As Kara eloquently put it: "LA makes me want to jump around and dance in my seat!"
There's also a lot of obvious classical influence here! Listening to Bye and Everything Means Nothing to Me makes me want to practice my oboe :D
beautiful beautiful beautiful work of art here. oh, and the album cover is extremely eye ... read more
maybe im just on a screamo bend right now but god this is so relistenable. its sound is HEAVILY reminiscent of YAAMC, especially their demos during their first tour (that I attended btw ahahhahahah) -- the electronic tracks in the back and drum loops really really put it together. oh, and you OBVIOUSLY cannot forget the trombone. that goddamn trombone... i am definitely biased because i play oboe but i LOVE it when new bands put in other instruments besides the big 4 into their songs.

a bit formulaic but i really really love this band. maybe im biased bc i saw Two Beers In live and watched a bunch of nerds scream it. fuckkk that is a good song. great band too btw!!! please listen to this album, its an emo essential. also, some great, like really really great, intermediate guitar riffs on here to learn, especially if you wanna be in a band (me).

is this what my sister was listening to in highschool? kind of, probably not, but it feels like 2016 to me. very catchy, makes me yearn for 3rd-wave emo before the mainstream (soooo i guess 2nd-wave).
very solid, i dont really know how to explain my affinity for title fight but sometimes I just want to listen to their music because its around. its kind of like chronic depression how there are a few aching moments, but it's mainly just a constant groan of un-enjoyment. That being said, I listen to this album almost every night to go to sleep and I've had GREAT dreams recently; I think this album fr has something to do with that and I don't mind.

Gustavo Cerati is my Michael Jackson
dude created the greatest Spanish Rock band of all time, left for his solo career, and dropped the greatest solo album in Spanish Rock history. This IS his best album, and all of his albums are gifts from God. This song brings me back to so many things, just like Pescado Rabioso, but with more fervor. The MOMENT cold weather comes to Arkansas, I put this album on. I want it to rain, I want it to snow, I want to shiver and I want to have 0 visibility on the ... read more
i cant believe i havent rated this album yet, but this band is another Argentinian Rock staple that everyone should listen to. This album & genre make me reminisce on old friends, especially the group that showed me this album. I felt so young around them and looked up so much, sometimes I forgot to watch my step. This album doesn't make me feel any solace about it, though; it's artsy, it's whimsical, its beautiful!! please please please listen. Wait till summer.

holy fuck!!!!!! every time you listen to this album, you think "this is SO fucking GOOD!!!!" Not many albums do that. It's a damn shame this album isn't talked about or listened to enough, especially from the Duster and shoegaze/slowcore fans. Goddamn these boys can play.

female vocalists make every emo and emo-adjacent band SO much better, every time. This album in particular has a lot of obvious 3rd-wave influence, but in a non-commercial way as it's blended with screamo and the 5th-wave distortion that i love sooooo much. Really good album & band!

shit went DOWN after this album came out. I think that as a band they wanted to jump into a new, more rock-driven and politically-driven direction after the massive success that was Zombie. They succeeded, but I think they jumped too far and lost their footing. Their next album is much more sophisticated and has a MUCH better direction; I think this album was a necessary step for them as a band to take, because they needed to experiment, learn from their mistakes, and take a breather. They did ... read more
Cranberries' 2nd LP nearly as good as their first! Still a 10/10. When you get to this level of songwriting and production I think the only things you can critique start to become more metaphysical, feel-based problems (or some hyper-specific technical theory problems, but nobody wants to hear that shit anyway so be quiet).
I like how this album progressively gets "darker" the longer you go. You cannot describe an album with "Ode to My Family" and "Zombie" ... read more
Best debut album of all time. I genuinely cannot understate the level of production this album has, it should be studied in music production classes everywhere.
Aside from the production, there is not a SINGLE non-banger on this album. It's really difficult for an album or band to *not* sound repetitive to me, but this is one of the only albums that truly blows me away with every song. Dolores (RIP) has unequivocally one of the best and most creative voices in modern music. In an ... read more
This album is a palate cleanser, like smelling coffee beans in between perfumes, or watching cute cat videos after you see gore on Twitter. Very beautiful, very pretty, I just wish that it wasn't just a collection and told more of a story; obviously it makes sense why this isn't the case (it's a miracle they were collected in the first place!), but one can hope to dream.
There is a song in here for everyone attached to emo, post-hardcore, slowcore, etc. Some of the songs are ... read more
