Micah Dailey-White - Micah.
70

Not a bad little album from Micah here. I’m always quite nervous when I’m seeing music that is made by people who mainly got famous by something like TikTok but I’m pleasantly surprised. There is a handful of bangers in here too so great start from Micah. I am looking forward to hearing more

Absolutely banger from Micah. About as good as his instagram which is a huge compliment

Chappell Roan - The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess

Such a very up and down sort of album for me. There are some great highs but not really huge lows just more like songs that fall flat a tiny bit. I was definitely a little bit late to the Chappell Roan phenomenon but I remember really liking it and it’s been something that I’ve always gone back to. Definitely some songs more than others though

Tyler, The Creator - Wolf

Recently I went and saw Tyler in the absolute hell hole that is Birmingham. I was only really familiar with his music post Flower boy. Everything I had heard of the music before usually has something to do with raping people and that didn’t sound great but the concert was so great that I had to at least try it out.

I did like WOLF a lot. It feels like this is the stepping point to the amazing albums that he’s been releasing. There are some moments that I’m not huge on. One ... read more

The Roots - Things Fall Apart

I did a review for this before but it was so meh that I had to just redo it because it just doesn’t capture this album.

I was first brought to this album just by the cover alone. It stuck with me and even though I was not huge on hip hop at the time, I thought I’d still give it a try. And I absolutely loved it.

Coming back to it now it still has the same energy and feeling I got from it when I first listened. This is such a great album that feels so genuine to me. It’s also ... read more

Paramore - After Laughter

I absolutely adore this album. One that has stuck with me for a while despite me not listening to much of the stuff I was listening to when I first discovered this. I always save it for summertime and as it’s getting around that I thought I’d listen again and it feels the exact same as the first time.

Despite the lyrics being quite haunting at times, the energy I get from this is almost unmatched and always brings me back to it. My only grievance would be “no friend” ... read more

Lola Young - One Thing

I’d love to hear the radio edit for this one

Laufey - Tough Luck

Keep on seeing that video with PinkPantheress and have been really looking forward to the song. Definitely delivered well

Little Simz - Young

Im a little bit confused. Not really up for the prime Queen Elizabeth accent. Pretty disappointing

Little Simz - Flood

It’s alright. Pretty normal Little Simz song. Never gonna complain at a Obongjayar feature though

Men I Trust - Untourable Album
72

Feels a bit wrong because I enjoy a majority of the album but something just didn’t click as well as the other 2 albums that I have listened to by Men I Trust have. It’s a lot more slower than those two. It’s also got almost a silent hill ambience to it at certain times which was much appreciated. But just didn’t hit as hard as the others I have heard. Still not bad though

Dev Lemons - NICE TRY
82

Pretty good single hopefully the album keeps the same pace

Men I Trust - Equus Caballus
94

Mate what a day this has been. Started with the PinkPantheress EP that was great. Then the Kali Uchis album which was an absolute gem of an album. Now this as well being my favourite of the bunch. Like some sort of holy trinity trilogy for today

Just like the last Men I Trust album I listened to which was Oncle Jazz, it just felt like the great songs were being thrown in my face over and over with no let up. Even when it started to slow down as it got to the end I still was having a great ... read more

Kali Uchis - Sincerely,

Such a beautiful album. Pretty much exactly what I’d expect the front cover to sound like. It is a huge step from the PinkPantheress EP I just listened to but this almost compliments it as a nice cool down. Definitely gonna be in the pool listening to this shit in the sun in a few months

PinkPantheress - Fancy That
92

What a treat this was. Been waiting for so long after tonight came out and was absolutely brilliant. This doesn’t slow down at all with most of it being really really good. Think that it slows down a bit near the end of this but they aren’t terrible songs by any means. Also the transition from tonight to stars had me in awe it was beautiful

Rating: 86~>92: Jesus this just gets better the more you listen I absolutely love it

Samia - Bloodless
80

Welcome back Phoebe Bridgers, kinda?

Really liked this album cover so thought I’d give it a listen and I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s very decent I like the sort of summer feeling to this. My only complaint being why is Craziest Person so short and end so abruptly. Was getting into it then it just cuts away. Please release a deluxe with Craziest Person 4 minute version

PinkPantheress - Stateside
78

You know how good tonight was when I’m a little disappointed by this

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
92

Such a beautiful album. The runtime of the album can seem really daunting but it seriously doesn’t give up. Still finding gems in this an hour and a half through. It’s a real experience that sort of capitulates the 70s despite being made right at the start. This is the type of atmosphere I feel whenever seeing nice clips of Woodstock or something. Really good

The Sundays - Blind
82

Very consistent from the first album. Pretty much feels like a part 2 to the first album. Have to say though, pretty creepy album cover. I gotta stare down this baby everytime I open Spotify and I think one day it’s gonna jump out at me

The Sundays - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic
85

Just a really solid project. The jangle feeling on this is definitely there though I especially like it when they push more into atmospheric and space like feelings. One that especially stood out was A certain someone. Great vocals mixed with some really nice vocals too. Pretty much describes the album as a whole
