Really decent album from Little Simz here. There are definitely flaws on here but this is just good old Little Simz in every way. This also gives me a chance to listen to “Free” again which is such a beautiful song. The features are also a beautiful list of artists that are always loved on a feature. Especially Sampha with his beautiful ass voice as always. Really good though overall even with a couple exceptions.
Really consistent project from Little Earl here
Really brings that Odd Future feel that a lot of their projects had but with Earl’s own sad yet very upbeat feeling. I really like his flow and I’ve always enjoyed when he’s featured on other songs so this was perfect for me. Also “Chum” is absolutely amazing from top to bottom with a great beat and absolutely cracking flows from Earl throughout. This delivered
These two just don’t stop delivering. Not made one bad thing.
Felt quite sad listening to this as it meant there was no more Magdalena bay to listen to for now. This is just as enjoyable as the rest though but feels more realised than the EPs and the mini mixes. I’d also recommend listening to the Piano and strings version of “Chaeri” off the deluxe album because that shit is overworldly
Pretty good though I can’t not say that I’m a little disappointed. I heard “The Complete Knock” and thought it was absolutely amazing but nothing really gets close to it. The album also slows down a lot around the middle part and I didn’t really enjoy any of those songs. Very up and down experience overall but it’s still alright
Is this meant to be bad?
I’ve heard so much bad about this and really expected the worse in every way but pretty much got the opposite. A lot of the stuff on here would fit easily on the newer albums and feels like the prototype for CMIYGL. There are some misses on this like the 9th track. Some sorta Hotel Transylvania beat. But overall it’s pretty good and very overlooked. Should be up there with the rest.
Absolutely certified fucking amazing. Would slide perfectly into Charm
Little bit of a longer EP but that just means more Magdalena bay so I ain’t complaining.
Like a giant electronic goodie bag, it’s so upbeat and over worldly and I can’t help but love that. I’m really surprised that these guys don’t chart with such catchy electronic yet dancey music. But not too much please that concert tickets would be impossible to get
Pretty up and down. Not a fan of the covers though even if they are an interesting listen
Decent little EP here. Really like that Matthew sings on the first song here his voice is really good
Final entry of this mini mix so far and it’s another good one. That video of top dog is very dreamy
Wow that was such an improvement from the last one and that’s saying something. Songs on here were just a whole other level to the last one. Definitely liked this one a lot
Just a really solid project. Filled with the great electronic stuff that they created on the most recent album
Ehh it’s alright. Only found out today this was even a thing and was worth a listen but definitely improvement needed
I am such a sucker for this type of sound. So dreamy and makes me think of a majestic beach. Anderson .Paak carries on being great on everything that I’ve ever heard him do. Also first time hearing anything from producer Knxwledge, his beats tickled a certain part of my brain that I’m gonna have to look further into. Overall, enjoyed this one
I have to say I enjoyed it a little bit more than the last.
“MOTOMAMI” feels so much more fun than the last album, not me saying that the last wasn’t fun in itself, but this seemed to gel better. I am also still warming up to to Latin music in general so I expect both to grow on me. It’s just a real shame that one of my favourite songs, “HENTAI”, will probably need explaining to people on Airbuds
I’ve been really wanting to listen to really anything ROSALÍA for a long time but just never really got around to it. Been missing out a bit here because I enjoyed this. I do think I need time to warm up to this style of music as I’m a bit new to it but definitely a nice amount to take away from here. Especially “MALAMENTE” I really liked that track in particular
Wow, I’ve been completely blown away by this. Anderson .Paak can usually make anything good but adding Bruno Mars into the mix, I was coming in with high expectations but they have been blown out the water.
The music is so soulful and angelic that it had me tearing up at points notably on “Love’s train” which isn’t on the track list on here for some reason, and “After last night”. This was everything that I could have asked for and I hope this ... read more
