I want to love this album so much because sonically and musically it is mind blowingly amazing but OH MY GOD the lyrics in this are so corny I can't stand it (this issue was also prevalent in wake)
PLEASE work on your lyricism, there is SO much potential in this band
I couldn't be more disappointed in an album. I guess Trench set the bar too high
urgh. I mean it's all catchy I understand why it's so well received but Oliver Tree feels like a one trick pony around this album.
It feels like a shell of himself I don't really understand why this album exists other than they had to make one since its been "set" amount of years. The thing that's beautiful with csr is a lot of his discography is raw and comes really close to his emotions and his heart. This album feels like it took the title too literally
There's just better in their discography I'm afraid. There's some nice songs in here but I find myself skipping through a lot or just picking a few out
It's so, whatever. Nothing stands out its like the most musically and stylistically safe album ppc has made
this just isnt that special compared to his other works, I'd rather listen to tmp1, tmp2, toot toot or Drain
there's some songs that I just have to skip and the rest is absolutely amazing. This is some of the most unpredictable and inconsistent music from an album ever honestly but I respect it in that aspect. I appreciate that this is part of The Garden and I am glad to see them iron this out into what would become their future lps.
Vouch to what blargg said, you can feel the emergence of the machine girl sound but you can also tell its very VERY much the beginning. The transition from Artie's Kryptonite to Machine Girl was a noticeable but reasonable shift in Matthew's production of electronic music. You could say this ep are the growing pains into what would become WLFGRL
