Bsterthegawd. - FALLEN ANGELS
NR

Incredible! Bster is one to watch!

Afta-1 - F O R M
82

The prelude will probably be my most listened to song this year

Chibi Ichigo - NA HALF 1
85

Amazing and energetic album by Chibi!

Madlib - Madlib Medicine Show #7: High Jazz
85

Madlib and Jazz were made for each other and I can't seem to get enough.

Dr Who Dat? - Beat Journey
87

Extremely underrated. A must listen for instrumental beat lovers.

Denzel Curry - Melt My Eyez See Your Future
87

Denzel Curry proves with this album that he is one of the greats of our time.
This, to me, is Denzel at his very best with influences from his previous projects but perfected. The maturity he expresses in his lyrics and the overal sound of this album, tells me that we can expect nothing more than greatness by him from now on.

FAV Track: Melt Session #1

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
84

After many hours of wondering what it was that Kendrick was cooking up these last few years, I'm can honestly say that this is not what I expected.
To follow up his powerful and confident album DAMN., with 1 hour and 18 minutes of pure emotion and deep conversation/therapy? Kendrick changed. And I am all for it.

FAV Track: Savior

Westside Gunn - 10
75

Following up on my favorite project by Gunn HWH 8: B sides, this had some really nice tracks but failed to impress me more.
That being said, the tracks that I did like will be in my rotation for some time.
Currently obsessing over The Alchemist beat on Red Death.

FAV Track: Mac Don't Stop

The Garden - HORSESHIT ON ROUTE 66
90

Loved the consistency of this album so much.
Been on rotation since it came out and might be my contender for AOTY.

FAV Track: Horseshit on Route 66

Freddie Gibbs - $oul $old $eparately
76

Althougth not the album of the year that was promised, a really exciting project from one of the best rappers out there right now.

FAV Track: Blackest in the Room

Joey Bada$$ - 2000
80

Boy did I fear this was gonna suck.
You know what happens when artists make albums to prove that they are better now, than they were on their most accomplished work? It fails because the expectations will always be to high going in.
Knowing this, I started listening to this without thinking about Joey's promise and it helped alot with my experience.
Even though there are some songs that, in my opinion don't fit at all (fuck Chris Brown), the overal vibe of the album is very consistent and ... read more

Benny the Butcher - Tana Talk 4
70

Benny being my least favorite Griselda member, this wasn't to bad.
However I feel like my enjoyment mostly came from the amazing production by some of my favorite producers like Alchemist and Daringer.

FAV Song: Super Plug

Jockstrap - I Love You Jennifer B
80

I saw Taylor Skye as an opener for Injury Reserve once and remember thinking back then that his kind of production would sound amazing in the context of a full length LP.
So happy that this exists. An absolute banger!

Fav Song: Greatest Hits

MAVI - Let the Sun Talk
74

Even though this sounded alot like Earl sometimes, on some songs he sounded even better and that is saying something.

FAV Song: Ghost (In the Shell)

Kenneth Blume - LOUIE
71

I was realy looking forward to this album. When Kenny explained why he made this, I expected that he would bring something to the table that, for us as listeners, would sound like an entirely different and more emotional Kenny production style. Wrong expectations from my end I guess. However I found that the second half of the album was more experimental, production wise, than I'm used to from Kenny so overal: a solid listen.

black midi - Hellfire
83

As my first introduction to Black Midi, I must say that this blew me away. The complexity of the tracks combined with some amazing creation of atmosphere makes this album for me a truely unique experience (something I have been looking for more in music).

FAV SONG: Sugar/Tzu

The Garden - Kiss My Super Bowl Ring
85

My first ever music from The Garden and I was immediately obsessed with them. Clench to stay awake underrated as hell.
