JID has shown such tiny artistic progression throughout his discography. "The Never Story" (2017), while not perfect, was a GIGANTIC step forward in his artistry (mostly because his earlier mixtapes were pretty garbage) and he hasn't really seen that big of a step forward since. I feel like this album doesn't even do anything too crazy or inventive it's just really damn good. Super solid emo with a lot of passion
edit: on a 2nd, more focused listen... Sara onward is genuinely so perfect like holy shit. The 2nd track is the only thing I'm meh about. I'm so hesitant on giving it a 100 but fuck it. The tiny shoegazey post rock bits are such a giant cherry on top I'm such a sucker for this shit lol. It has a pretty intriguing and heartbreaking narrative as well
