FIRST AJR REVIEW!!! HYPE!!!!
I also hope that this is the last.
This Maybe Man is the most recent album by AJR, a group active since 2005 consisting of the three brothers Jack, Ryan, and Adam Met.
Jack play the guitar, keyboard, and bass, Ryan does drumming, production, and some of the songwriting, and lastly, Adam is the lead vocalist and songwriter in the group.
Based on the rating you can see I wasn't too fond of the album, First off all the lyric are awful. Some examples include: ... read more
This is almost as bad as Y2K
This album has boring production consisting of basic electro-pop and boring and uninteresting piano parts, actually? How did she think this was good production?!?
There are no good songs on this album with the best songs being bland and uninteresting, and the worst being absolute trash.
LWYMMD is a perfect example of how to fail at making a song, bland production, lyrics that an emo 13 year old would make, and an absolutely atrocious chorus, which brings us to the ... read more
Ok, I just want to say it. I have never been a “swiftie” I have heard her music before but never really found it captivating or interesting, although I surprisingly think this album is decent.
First of all, Style has some very nice verses from Taylor, nice production that fits the vibe of the song, and the chorus isn’t too annoying.
Songs like Wildest Dreams and This Love also bring some nice production and good singing by Taylor Swift.
On the contrary, songs like Bad Blood ... read more
I love everything except the 7th track,
(Interludes don’t count)
The lyrics are annoyingly edgy on that track and makes it feel really about of place even on this album, which has some edgy parts.
At least it sounds good.
Best song: Forty six & two
Worst song: Idk if I can say the 7th track’s name, look at it yourself.
My expectation were somehow to high and I expected it to be a 50!
The production on this record is bland with shitty autotune is some of the songs. He also somehow doesn’t understand that his metaphor and puns are so corny: Ex. Bonny and Clolide when the subject is crashing a car. There also many awful hooks such as road rage.
The main problem though is how fake Em’s edginess comes across, unlike his old stuff ( which I do like ) this just seems like he’s trying to appeal to ... read more
I find this album very enjoyable with great beats and lyrics 90% of the time but think there are some problems
-The beat on I don’t give a fuck has this annoying noise
-some hooks are pretty mid such as bead meets evil
-There are way too many celebrities referenced
Best song: Rock Bottom/97’ Bonnie and Clyde
Worst song:If I Had/C*m on Everybody
The album has great production on all songs and A$ap delivers a great rap performance.
The only bad parts are Purple Swag and Keep It G.
Best song: Houston Old Head
Worst song: Purple swag/Keep it G
(Edit: 88-90. The analog horror stuff has grown on me)
To be honest, I've never really been much of a pop fan, but still, this album for the most part slaps.
I really like the vocals in all off the songs. Sarah delivers a unique singing style while also fitting the sad vibes of this album.
The production feels both upbeat and sad at times, offering contrast while also fitting with the vocals.
I do find though, the guitar on Sometimes is annoying which makes the song worse in my ... read more
I had heard of JPEGMAFIA before listening to this but never listened to any of his music.
The best thing about this album has to be the production, the best way I could describe it is organized chaos. It is all over the place yet it still works and helps to create cohesive and fantastic songs.
I also thing JPEG's voice pairs really well with the production as it can also be really chaotic, for example: in Hazard Duty Pay! He fluctuates from being more calm to just strait up yelling which ... read more
Almost entirely fantastic. Beats are very nice and fit the vibe of the rapping and flow.
I will say though, nothing stands out as absolutely fantastic or impactful + near the end of the album it starts to drop in quality.
Personally, I found The Bends to be the most enjoyable and Peanut to be the worst.
This is Kendrick Lamar's 3rd album and he second one I've listened to ( I listened to GKMC before I started rating and forgot to rate it so that's why this one was rated before it )
Long story short, banger album
If you want reasons though here they are:
First of all, this album has no misses, there are some songs I don't want to listen to at all times, such as Mortal Man ( one of the most well written and thought provoking songs on the album ) for reasons I wont spoil in ... read more
