there's like 5 perfect songs on here, and those that aren't perfect are still great. DOOM's rapping and production are at a peak and every feature does their thing, especially Hassan Chop on I Wonder.
kinda crazy i see so much discussion over this beings DOOM's worst. it's pretty consistent and although it doesn't reach the heights that Vaudeville Villain did, it's still a fine listen, just wish it was a tad longer.
3 top DOOM songs that are either in or nearing his top 50 in one EP is crazy.
I really don't want to be negative but this feels so much like a demo. wish it was longer or had another verse cause that instrumental is so good.
it's cool. dabo soft asf for reacting that much to a one-off line lmfao, maybe that's why she don't wanna go on your streams bro
this is soooo good dude holy. the way he manages to build the atmosphere of this EP so well throughout just 5 tracks is insane, and even more crazy since it was apparently just Mac alone working on this.
used to not like the outro but it's grown on me a lot. perfect song.
from nugget in a biscuit to "I MET KYLE RITTENHOUSE" what hell timeline are we in
God's Country is really unique where it stands in Ye's catalogue. it stands as his first project after the heavy religious theming of JIK, and predessecor to Donda's first version. it also has like barely any finished Ye verses for it lmfao. still a fun era to look into though, love the darker political and religious themes, and it's fun to see how this later evolved into Donda v1's manic sound. definitely happy that this evolved into the Donda we have today, but this ... read more
this tracklist is fine. early FML with Travis, Fade with James Blake and Lil Uzi Vert, and Famous (Nina Chop) with Young Thug are pretty great. definitely not better than TLoP but it's a cool insight into the albums production cycle. if you want a more fleshed-out look into the Swish concept without it just being TLoP, definitely go listen to Luwi and Lilac's Swish comp. really good rework of some of those 2015/16 demos.
maybe this one will stay up.
also tracklist is wrong from the confirmed 9-track copy we have.
great ideas on War though, really great chemistry between Ye and James, and the album has the same kinda sentimental and somber tone of 808's. definitely rely on yedit's though, people have made some amazing versions of these tracks that sound essentially finished.
in base leak form: 6.5/10.
in a fully-edited format: 8/10.
I kinda fw it idk man. i do wish Camila had less of a presence here and it was more Carti-focussed but it's just a fun song, nothing wrong with it really.
kinda lacking release from Bruiser Brigade, which sucks cause with how things are looking this could very well be their first and only LP. unsurprisingly, Danny has the best songs here and generally performs the best on each track. Zeeloperz and Bruiser Wolf also do great, just not a big fan of most of the JUS or Fat Ray tracks sadly. i do wish there were more collabs on here, posse cut would've been crazy good as an intro track.
