Good but not as good as Spooky Sounds by Trippie Redd
Just found this to be kinda unfinished? Like the songs on here are too short and them being kinda repetitive doesn’t help. With the exception of Super Shy and ETA the rest of the songs just feel like stretched out interludes. Not the biggest fan of NewJeans but I do like most of their previous stuffs and understand why people love them, however I don’t get the hype for this one.
While the music retain the fantastic bubbly, vibrant and upbeat production of their debut EP and Loveticon, this EP lack the insanely catchy and earwormy choruses that made their debut EP my favorite kpop release of 2022. While the last song on 7272 was Euratcha, one of the most catchy and fun pop song last year for me, this EP unfortunately follow the long kpop tradition of having a bland and boring ballad as the closer with Dandelion. The real highlight of this album is the opening track Gamble, which is easily one of Sheena’s best songs. As for the rest of the album, I prefer the version of these songs on Shōso Strip and KSK, however I do think most of these remixes are great and stand apart enough from the originals that people should not sleep on this album.
Why be a Swiftie and listen to Midnights when you can be a Raecist and listen to this instead
Meh, pretty tame and safe stuffs for a debut. I’m sure fans will like this but this is the type of kpop I listen to once and move on, nothing really interesting here. The title track is ok but I am not a fan of that repetitive chorus. No Problem is pretty good, probably my favorite track on here, it has a catchy hook and sounds like an early 2010s radio pop hit.
