This was absolutely magical, and should have been about fifteen minutes shorter
I don't know how long Will Wood can keep making remasters and live albums of his old work before making any original music, but apparently we're still going! The story was sweet, the jokes were hit or miss. It was a little pretentious, and the live songs are, for the most part, toned down and drawn out in weird areas. I did like Against The Kitchen Floor and And If I did, you Deserved it. Dare I say the ladder was better than on the first live album it was on. Laplace's Angel was ... read more
I feel like the more solemn songs would have hit harder if there was more variety in the pacing. A common criticisms that I have of albums is that they are not cohesive enough, but this one is almost TOO cohesive. There isn’t enough up and down, and it gets to a point where it feels like the album is dragging itself along, at least in my opinion. That being said, there are some pretty good songs on here. I like how we hear the perspective of unhealthy relationships from more than one ... read more
I listen to this album every year around halloween and listen to some of the songs on it once in a while
It's fun and whimsical and silly and quirky and playful, with a little bit of melancholy and existentialism sprinkled in. I prefer the 2008 version, but 2005/2006 have some differences that I like. If you like upbeat music that sounds like it's made by nerds (because it is), you'll probably love this. It has some serious moments, but it never lingers on being sad. Despite its silliness, it really does have some profound moments.
Was a re-release of this album really necessary? The demos are cool, though.
"Hey you know that really great album that was full of heart and soul and cool sound effects? Let's wipe it nice and clean and sterilize it!" If this was the only version of the album that existed, it would easily be 80. But the fact that its just a worse version of an amazing album just pisses me off so much that I'm docking it twenty points
This is more story than music, which is fine. But the end of the story was super anticlimactic. They went through all of that just for the album to end with them releasing a song to the internet? That's it? Two cults were after them and there were protests in EVERY MAJOR CITY for these two girls, who were also decently popular in a circus---all of that just for nobody to recognize them in that motel?
The music was pretty mediocre, but I liked Evelyn Evelyn. I like how we get to see some ... read more
banger after banger, but feels more like a collection of songs than one cohesive album
definition of a concept album. It's very SELF-centered, and every song serves a purpose in exploring different facets of...well. Self.
Favorite: The Song with Five Names, a.k.a. Soapbox Tao, a.k.a. Checkmate Atheists! a.k.a. Neospace Government, a.k.a. You Can Never Know
Least Favorite: Self-
It's a good album, but I pretty much only listen to the songs by themselves.

The start of the album is really boring, but picks up once it gets to Sing me to Sleep. The songs on this album carried the gacha life community, and Faded still makes me feel like I'm floating whenever I listen to it. Despite me liking individual songs on the album, the album itself is kind of lackluster.
The commentary on toxic relationships is great. The instrumentals are kind of lacking but the lyrics and story are great. Dare I say this might actually have benefitted from being sung by a human. The lyrics are absolutely this album's strong suit, but they are pretty hard to listen to without looking at the lyrics. Appetite of a people pleaser is the exact message I've been looking for in a song, and the songs have great parallels between each other.
This album could easily be one of ... read more
Like Tally Hall's first album, this is very playful and lighthearted, but it also feels more mature. Very fitting name.
Favorite: Fate of The Stars, Misery Fell
Least Favorite: Cannibal
My favorite album of all time. The music itself is ethereal and transcendent, and the story that it tells (however nebulous) is just the cherry on top. It invites you to draw your own conclusions on what's happening, and the meaning of it I different to everyone who listens.
I love this album, and I think I will sing its praises until my dying days. I have the CD, I have the vinyl, I have the hat, I have the camp shirt, I have the T-Shirt, I have various fanarts of this hanging on my ... read more
