While still working with a very raw vocal sound and some murky production, the writing and themes on Rivers & Robots' debut full-length EP, Take Everything, is phenomenal. Many of the instrumentals are creative, exciting, and emotional. This album took me a bit to warm up to, because it’s a bit abstract and a lot of the songs are very minimalist. Cudi’s vocals just don’t work alone at certain points, but he knows how to write a catchy hook. He definitely established his signature sound. This album is a fun and energetic pop punk album. That’s really all I have to say. Personally I really mess with the sound that Search The City embrace.
