Some really strong tracks here (Ferne, Volver, Monkey Biz) but towards the end it feels a bit all over the place.
Bold and expansive, a bit messy at parts but that's part of its ambition.
Fela Kuti and Kamasi Washington vibes, with a sprinkle of Shabaka Hutchings. A whole journey. The percussion is HEAVENLY. I felt forced to raise the volume in Virgin.
I would delete a couple of tracks in the second half that don't add up much to the experience but otherwise, when it works, it works. Every time I paid close attention to the lyrics, they elevated the album.
I can't remember a single thing about this EP and I finished it one minute ago.
Digging this lo-fi, free-form grime sound even if i find it grating in other artists. It feels authentic and earned here.
Somewhere between Anohni and Holly Herndon. The vocal experiments in Tendril and Gossip make them stand out among the rest, which can sometimes go on for too long.
Pigalle is an outstanding centerpiece. A soothing album. I would remove the vocals altogether.
This EP is a whole journey, way ahead of its time. Loved the chopped vocals and the space feeling throughout.
Most songs have small tweaks in their live versions which make them feel fresh even though they are not entirely different from the studio versions. She displays her talents effortlessly. "Toaster" is a great new track joining the rest of her work.
