A pretty serviceable pop punk that doesn't revolutionize the genre, but doesn't make it worse as well. It has its good moments, but that formula suddenly becomes more redundant and boring when I reached the latter half of the album. Nothing really to write home to except for the first two songs.
Favorite: Dumbstruck Dumbfuck, Sort Yourself Out
An enjoyable listen with some really good bangers in there. For me, there were songs that didn't really click for me, but it doesn't detract me from its overall experience. motions is my song of the year right now.
And yes, this has the same rating as Saviors. But this is better because of motions.
"I got a robot and I'm fucking it senseless" - Billie Joe Armstrong, 2024
Is it good as American Idiot and Dookie? No, hell naw, not even close
Is it better than Father of All? Hell yes, not even close
Did I like it? Yes, as a Green Day fan, I enjoyed it pretty well
But will everyone else on here will? Sadly, probably not, but hey, that's how the cookie crumbles.
i hope someone made a "21, on god, or pussy" ad-lib counter, bc i'm very curious on how many were said.
whoever the dj is, he sounds like that guy that you sometimes hear in gta v radio commercials.
huh, i was wondering where finn the human is doing now these days...
also this album was... an album. armchair was the only part that ill go back to.
Dream proves to be an emotive and candid pop songwriter on his debut EP. -AllMusic, who gave it a 70.
But I'm not doing that.
Also, the "critic" who wrote this also gave This is Why and Desire, I Want To Turn Into You a 90.
He also gave Viva Las Vengeance and OK Orchestra a 90 as well. Something to point that out.
You're also wanting my thoughts, right? Well, all I got was if Imagine Dragons realized they were pop and not indie. Actually, that's offensive to ID. Sorry guys.
I swear to god I reviewed this album... I guess I procrastinated on this. Here's my review then:
I also thought it was a studio microphone and not an electric chair.
Well after a short but pretty fun journey through Good Kid's 3 EPs, I finish with its 3rd and most recent EP. And here's some quick thoughts about it.
The fatigue starts to creep in for them. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, as it's pretty consistent with its sound, but Madeleine and Pox (from the 2nd EP) were basically refreshers for me and perhaps some of the best songs they've made. However, the 1st two songs were pretty good as well. Especially No Time to Explain, in which it was the ... read more
This doesn't feel like it's 13 and a half minutes long... I wish it was longer.
2024 is under way and this journey begins with twikipedia, and his EP, "still-life"! (ignore this blurb that I first misread it as "twinkipedia", my bad guys)
Well this whole EP was pretty much a nice vibe. But in the end, only the 1st song and hurt (the beginning sounded liked here comes the sun for some reason) were the ones that piqued my interest the most, while the rest sounded like background music. Not a bad start to 2024 at all. At least it wasn't earrape than what ... read more
I listened to Good Kid's second EP for a while, so I re-listened to it again just to get my full thoughts. And here's what I got to say:
Pox is somewhat the best song here. It's like very different than the rest of the album. And of course it's the least played song on the EP. For me, there's this thing called "artist fatigue" in which the more the album sounds the same as I continue, the more I get bored. And that's almost what happened to me. Even if the EP was 15 minutes long, I ... read more
The intro is way different from Good Kid's sound, and... it's actually really good. I mean, if the next upcoming songs are like this, then I wouldn't mind that one bit. It's essential for a band to try something new (in my opinion), and experiment with different genres. And also, has anyone noticed this is the longest song they've made, clocking at a very LONG 3 minutes and 45 seconds. Just to point that out.
Oh yeah, I think I said this before... it's one of the best songs they've made.
I mean, if you are going to cover a Laufey song, then you'd better do it right? And that's exactly what Good Kid did. Nice job. :)
So... I'm going to a Good Kid concert in April, so I guess it's time to listen to all of its discography so I don't stick out like a sore thumb.
I've taken a few good listens from the first EP, and the first 4 songs are easily the best songs. Faster and Atlas, well, just feels like filler. While aren't they not that bad, it just doesn't reach that heights than the first half. This is probably why the score is That being said, Tell Me You Know and Nomu are my personal favorites right now, and ... read more
The riff sounds like "So What" by P!NK. This isn't the strongest song, but the not the weakest (still think TADIKM is the "worst" one, but it's still pretty decent). Also this would be a better score if it just didn't end abruptly. But if people say it's the worst single, then this album would still be pretty good.
Just two more weeks to go!
I'm back from the dead, Green Day is back from the dead, and they have gotten back to their roots. It has grown on me with each listen. As a Green Day fan, today is a good day.
just release a new album mate, you're having this same look for the past 3 singles, but yet you cant announce it. and also the song? um, it was fine. nothing to write home, but letter than the last one. just ok. so yeah, um, if you could like at least have a teaser for a big project soon then be sure to let us know, ok? thanks, really appreciate it.
