Energy! Lots of energy! From the production to the performances are excellent. Even sound choices that aren't the most agreeable are more than made up for by other elements. Very consistent and very much fun!
Not worth re-listening apart from a couple of good moments. Really lacking in ideas and that says something for the number of styles she tries to juggle around. Disappointing outing especially after Plastic Hearts.
A lots of highlights but quite inconsistent, especially towards the end.
Lots of attitude and style. Enjoyed the different sounds folded together but was left wishing the beautiful slower shifts were more purposeful than feeling like speed bumps mid track. Thoroughly passionate and mesmerising still.
I heard this for the second time where I had to deal with ads and there's no worse struggle while listening to an album in my experience.
Full of energy and rawness, in how personal it gets for a debut record and the heart-baring accounts are a lot to take in. Some ideas feel they could have been more suited to serve as interlude rather than dragging along when they are running for full song length - but that's me nitpicking as it stays mostly consistent.
That voice is like a good damn wave of sweet poison. Melodies are mostly enjoyable. Lyrics range from poignant, painting a dreamland while taking on thoughtful journeys to conjunction of phrases that are only justified by sounding funny or rhyming together. Thankfully the musical ideas are solid enough even through the kinda rough patches, which makes it worth looking past for the more joyous moments.
