Miley in her best form. My only nitpick would be the mixing at points.
You ever hate that feeling when an album sounds crisp and fresh with music that's super smooth... but it just doesn't click as much as you thought it would have?
Some songs hit. Some songs don't. Kinda felt sleepy at points - but maybe it's just me.
There are tons of great tracks scattered in this album. I get that it's a double album, but it feels longer than that- that's the album's biggest problem.
The first track, A Night in Tunisia, is one of the finest pieces of jazz music I've ever heard. A chaotic but fun experiene from start to finish. Blakey's drumming screams to grab your attention and stands out.
Yeah it's good. But Electric Ladyland is just better.
While this album has its great moments and some interesting ideas, it didn’t quite click with me overall (and that’s okay). Listening to it mostly reminded me how much I miss Isaac’s voice, which brought a distinct character to the band. Without it, something feels missing. That said, there are still flashes of creativity and solid production here. It’s a decent listen, just not one I feel drawn back to.
You know the music is good when it makes your ear drums bleed
