Jackson Park Express is not only likely his funniest song but also probably the greatest song i've ever heard a discography end on. this guy is an absolute treasure
genuinely forgot this album was THIS good. utterly surprised people generally rank this one on the lower end.
i still hold an irrational fear of those confetti canons he brought for this album's tour. insert arbitrary statement about how trapped in the drive-thru is among the absolute masterpieces of music along with starless and supper's ready
just more and more absolute bangers. genius in france is still everything i could ever wish for in a prog parody (outside of thick as a brick obv)
still one of the greatest albums i've ever listened to, he really hit it out of the fucking stadium with this one.
The Night Santa Went Crazy might genuinely be my favorite christmas song of all time
extremely hit-or-miss record but still good. just a few too many throwaway cuts for me to totally love it.
The "Isle Thing" was a destructive trend that started in the late summer of 1989 after a song of the same name was released by parody artist "Weird Al" Yankovic. President George W. Bush Sr signed a bill on June 13, 1990 that bans any and all acts of the Isle Thing. The song is ... read more
some of the best highs and most brutal lows of his 80s output. some surprisingly good songs on here but i can see why it flopped as hard as it did.
two really bad duds on this album hold it down pretty significantly, overall still a decent collection of songs though
some of his absolute best deep cuts are on here, probably his best 80s record, as bleak of a picture as it paints for the 80s pop scene
Yeah, this album's aged a little better than it probably has any right to have done. Happy Birthday almost killed me laughing
all the (already little) melanin draining out of my body as i hear the same twinky ass riff 40 times in a row
ok yeah this is easily as good as s/t, i've changed my mind. the moodier, almost haunted-circus aesthetic this one has is fucking phenomenal
