A Post-Rock album I was expecting to despise or just not care for, and ended up enjoying the general atmosphere a decent bit. The focus on the piano was a really nice addition to the instrumental album, but honestly a lot of it still was just a bit too weird for me. Respectfully, it kept my interest more than a LOT of the post rock/art rock albums I’ve heard this year, but I probably won’t come back to this willingly except for end of the year revisits. Initial rating of 6.2

Honestly, the thing about Alt Rock/Alt Metal is that the overall sound it goes for generally doesn’t interest me unless it’s weird, like Yonaka, or something I’m already interested in generally. This specific style of Alt Rock doesn’t do much, especially because I don’t find the vocals that amazing either.

It’s a chill mood for the album, but it’s not doing much for me as a whole. Going to give it a 5.8 simply because I don’t enjoy it that much.

For my first impression of this band, I’m a little bit disappointed I didn’t enjoy this as much as I thought I would. There are a few standout tracks, of course. Those being “how to exit a room”, “the mood i’m in / jsyk”, and “thoughts i have while lying in bed”. Those 3 were great, but the rest of it generally didn’t do much for me.
