album of the year plus two mid tracks aka gas station and unknown lovers… been on repeat since release… her most cohesive project to date…oh slayyyter you will receive the club darling to worldwide superstardom pipeline you have always deserved… vocals are unmatched
this album is banger after banger but my hot take is that supermassive black hole is a weird choice in the midst of so much anti-establishment bleak sociocritical lyricism but it’s still good and also twilight baseball scene so…..
guy who has only ever heard the super mario galaxy (2007) score: this is kinda like the super mario galaxy (2007) score
very cooooool! My first foray into gesaffelstein, like depeche mode and justice had a fun weird spooky baby. repetitive in a way OP live album woman worldwide could never be but I would be losing my mind if I was at this set I can’t lie
soooo pre-discovery daft punk in parts! love the scratching! similar to lanita being so ahead of the curve with ultraviolence and born to die that it almost sounds dated/cliché just because its nachos have been reheated so many times. the blueprint for all 500-subscriber-man with-vlog youtube-channel music
stunningly beautiful production, can’t believe the avalanches haven’t been on my radar. so atmospheric and other-worldly and very daft punk discovery. some of the singles are spectacular particularly the divine chord / reflecting light, first 14 songs of the album are stronger than the remaining 11 for me but still very cinematic and lends itself well to front-to-back listening. an album for those who enjoy contact (1997)
perfect album. real killing yourself music. wish I could be 14 listening to this again and crying my eyes out
my faves on this album are valid but my god some of it is grating. video games is a love song for the ages

This is honestly insane to listen to in 2025 it’s like the worst caricature of Lana Del Rey you’ve ever heard but it’s literally her
If I was Lana Del Rey and wrote Norman Fucking Rockwell and lost the Grammy for album of the year I would start killing people
freak is so OP
faves:

terrance loves you
high by the beach

It’s kinda crazy to listen to this and find parts cliche or cheesy and then remember this is literally the blueprint… melodramatic sadpop girlies will forever be chasing making an album like this
faves:
cruel world
shades of cool
brooklyn baby
west coast
money power glory
pretty when you cry
the other woman
black beauty
florida kilos
a stacked album that might be the last of the “character” lana del rey, overly long towards the end and repetitive of the same things she always sings about but get free is top 5 in her discography for me
faves:
cherry
in my feelings
tomorrow never came
get free
my pivotal 2023 album, will forever associate this with the most transitional strange impermanent year of my life, hotel meatball sub and windowless break rooms and scenic mountain viewpoint and getting off work to cry in bed and some good parts too
faves:

fingertips

let the light in
taco truck x VB
this and cotcc are some of the most personal storytelling she’s done through lyrics, both albums are kinda weak for me but I think they are necessary stepping stones into the beauty that is tunnel under ocean boulevard
faves:
dealer
thunder
living legend
sweet carolina
My long avoided lana album as a self-professed norman fucking rockwell evangelist, this is not my fave. hadn’t heard “dark but just a game” until right now and it’s definitely my fav, COTCC (the song) I don’t love but I am very taken with how romantic and simple the lyrics are
wowwww not the flop I was expecting that’s MY avoidant attachment victim pop girlie
