I don't care what anyone says this is a great song that deserves a 9/10.
I'm all for Mac DeMarco vibey songs.
PSA: Please, do not bomb review the release, it ruins the principles of AOTY to judge music as it is. Either bypass the people behind the song and review it correctly or boycott it.
Honestly, it's in between "really awesome" and "just good". It's like the lyrical structure of a Cause For Concern with the energy of Portait Of A Blank Slate and the melodies and feel of a Peeble Brain song, which is cool because honestly after ILGWIS, I was kind of scared of this ... read more
CCTV IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF THE CENTURY FOR GOD'S SAKE. I'D LIVE TO IT FOR DECADES!
I can't believe that for 2 years I missed out on this masterpiece. This is yet the craziest album I've listened to and I became overly addicted since I saw her doing the first part of Porter's show, and since then I became addicted: 316 minutes and still counting as I'm writing this review (it's not a lot, but I've listened to the album A LOT to the point I remember some of the best hooks of the project).
Anyways uh, April is one of the best artists ever and that ... read more
Even if you don't speak english, it's definitely an EP to listen to, especially since it's much more than just a simple pop EP, it's a mix of synthpop, psychedelic elements and alt-pop.
It was definitely produced with heart, soul and brain at full use.
I would recommend you to listen to it heavily, especially Contemplation and Le monde est à nous, they are absolute bangers.

YEAH but also eh...
I mean it's a pop song so what can you expect, but it kinda sounds like Dayglow's new music and I was all for it so I'm not going to deny I kinda like it haha.
never felt more uncomfortable, but it was the idea so fucking hell it's done so well
we clearly owe KSI an apology after hearing Anxiety by Doechii, this isn't that bad.
WARNING: SPOILERS UNDERNEATH!!!
Thank you Matador for sending the vinyls early so I could make this review. Appreciate it (LMAO).
Honestly? It's the best album Car Seat ever made as a band (not counting Face To Face which was a remake of Mirror To Mirror, even though I put a better score to The Scholars than FTF). The sounds are perfect, swimming in between folk sounds and rock sounds that made CSH the band they are today.
I don't know what to say really, I felt great listening to ... read more
THEY DID IT AGAIN GUYS, THEY DID IT AGAIN!!
Let's not lie, half of the review of this song are mainly bombing the ratings because "omg look the biter released a song post-allegations".
The mixing is kinda fucked, I'm not going to lie about that, but the bridge is probably the best idea they had for a song since a long time, it adds something to the song that makes it powerful somehow.
In between Dayglow's Fuzzybrain and self titled, MGMT's Congratulations and Loss Of Life, Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, The Beatles' Abbey Road and Djo's previous projects, Joe Keery manages to deliver a solid alt-rock album sweating of psychedelic influences while keeping a perfect pop tone on some tracks to make it accessible to fans of commercial hits like End of Beginning.
I really felt listening to a whole story told so perfectly, for a small amount of time ... read more

*listens to the first 3 mins of the song*

*arrives to the 4 mins mark*
"Oh and we're back to normal? YES I MOVE THROUGH THE WORLD"
*listens to the rest of the song*

#08 - In The Afternoon (2019)
I mean, what do you expect me to say except "OMG ITS FUCKIN MGMT-"
Yeah, it's very good, I fell in love with the second chorus immediately on first listen, so yeah it's a very good song. It's like a perfect transition towards Loss Of Life, although I didn't feel quite the same feeling I had on AYMTTW, it's a very different jam.
But it's still enjoyable and a great 80's pop entry.

#06 - Time To Pretend EP (2005)
Damn, I forgot to post the review for this EP back then. Well here it is:
Time To Pretend shows The Management in their early days mashing up Synthpop, Electronica and Progressive Electronic in a total of 27 minutes length. It's a brillant work of art that is (of course) not as perfect as some of their records but show their evolution as musicians/producers.
MGMT DISCOGRAPHY REVIEW
#07 - 11/11/11 (recorded in 2011, released in 2022)
It's crazy how low this masterpiece is.
IMAGINE, having to perform all of that live TWICE (because they did it on 2 separate nights). This is crazy how low this is and we have some of the best material of the band on this live album (like mofo we have Tell It To Me Like It Is and Forest Elf).
Anyways, great album again from MGMT !
gonna review in french for the first time ever:
Satine est l'une des artistes que j'ai la chance de connaître depuis longtemps, depuis ses débuts sur YouTube et ses premières vraies démos. Cet EP est pour moi la concrétisation de toutes ces démos et toutes ces chansons, les 4 premières chansons de l'album sont des masterclass monumentales, spécialement Sur Terre et Remède.
Je suis pas un grand grand fan de pop de ... read more
