this album is definitely what you could call a pop bible. it’s a non-stop dance record with no ballads and barely any slower moments (light years take notes sis). the singles are absolutely legendary, especially the music videos like ugh she’s just so iconic.
favs : love at first sight (one of my fav songs ever), fever, in your eyes
least favs : dancefloor, give it to me (still love them)
a nice album, has some of her best songs ever but also some that are a bit boring. the biggest problem here is that some songs sound good individually, but don’t really fit within the concept of the album which makes it less cohesive (bittersweet goodbye, i’m so high, kids, etc). those songs could have definitely been cut, considering the album is pretty long too. this is also her comeback album in a way, after the unfortunate commercial flop of the flawless impossible princess, so ... read more
i might be a bit biased bc this is charli but idc. this is sooooo good and it’s cool to see her do stuff that’s different from usual. she was on a generational run on those first 5 tracks, literally 10 after 10. house being the opening and having a whole spoken word intro ?? i don’t wanna say anything bc i know i will keep writing for ages, but what i will say is this is probably my favorite album of all time, and i feel connected to it so so so much. it’s my go-to album whenever something is going wrong in my life, wether it be in a relationship or in general. the movie is also an absolute masterpiece.
