Every single dad or uncle I know, absolutely loves this album. Just pure peak dad music

What can I say about Violator that hasn't been said yet? It's easily one of the most iconic and legendary Synthpop albums, with that 80s/90s Darkwave flare, this album creates some of the most memorable soundscapes the genre has got to offer. And the impact this album had on Synthpop, in general, is also absolutely insane, it was quite groundbreaking when it came out.

The gated reverbed-out snares, dark and arpeggiated basslines, sensual vocals, and atmospheric synths all come into play here, and they work brilliantly together. I absolutely love the production and instrumentation on this record. The nocturnal feel to these tracks is really transcendental and takes you to another universe, it really hits especially on a late night.

Obviously, Enjoy The Silence is the biggest hit from this album, that literally everyone in their mother has heard. It has to be one of the most iconic songs ever released, and it honestly never gets old, despite the fact how much it gets overplayed to this day. That hook is just legendary man. If there was a song that was on the level of Enjoy The Silence here, it would be Policy Of Truth, which has this absolutely infectious instrumental and an amazing hook too. Might be my favorite on here, honestly. World In My Eyes and Cleans both start and end the album very well, with these very dreamy synths, combined with some very nice up close vocals, Clean in particular is such a vibe.

While Personal Jesus does sound a little funny to me, with that guitar riff, which pretty much sounds like it could be used in a Ford Commercial nowadays, it's still an amazing song. Blue Dress is also another great one, as well as Waiting For The Night. If there was a track on here that I wasn't crazy about, it would be Sweetest Perfection, but even that is a very nice song in general.

So yeah, not only has this album created some of the most iconic soundscapes in music history, and had a groundbreaking impact on the whole genre of Pop music, but it has also aged very well, and still goes hard to this day. Indeed a certified classic!

FAV TRACKS: Policy Of Truth, Enjoy The Silence, Clean, World In My Eyes, Personal Jesus, Blue Dress, Waiting For The Night
LEAST FAV TRACKS: Sweetest Perfection (still pretty good)
