It's kinda weirdo wonky but I like it. The strangeness lends itself to a super unique and captivating sound, but also it's so jarring that it struggles to make an emotional impact.
(That said, the closing track follows a pretty stripped back, classic Salami Rose / Falanfi structure and I think it's the best on the album. So maybe this thing is too weirdo for its own good.)
Little Homies is one of few memorable tracks on this album for me. The rest of it was pleasant but forgettable.
Inoffensive, but mostly boring. Vignette was a nice highlight. Not what I was hoping for based on the singles. Just kinda sounds like twenty one pilots; in other words, not much of an evolution.
Can't quite live up to the heights of the first two tracks, but pretty nice little album.
Funny lyrics but the beat was pretty poopy. Doesn't really feel like a Kendrick. Came across more as a Soundcloud rapper. Still entertaining though
Fuck... This is so brutal. Feels like clenching your fist and grinding your teeth until your jaw hurts.
Zeitgeist might be the best song of the year so far.
Some of the more interesting instrumentation and sound design I've heard on a Swift album, but the vocal delivery, lyricism, and melodies are lacking. At least I can tell most of the songs apart. This thing suffers primarily from its length though. I'm scared of listening to the 2 hour version.
It's alright.
I think some of you need to listen to genuinely bad music. Like for all of you calling this soulless or boring, it's definitely not. There some fun moments here. It's consistently fresh and inventive. What I would say is that not all of the ideas on the album are working. Simple as. But I don't think this is evidence of theory trumping artistry or anything. I didn't find any part of this to be boring, nor did I find any part of it overwhelmingly complex or overproduced. I don't ... read more
Ugly is a band I've had my eye on since 2022 with the release of "I'm Happy You're Here," which I absolutely loved. Although pretty much all of the songs on this album were spoiled as singles before it came out, this still a wonderfully enchanting listen. Ugly has a truly unique, eclectic, warm sound.
Woahh, this is super fucking cool. Might have to give it some more time to let it sink in and grow on me, but I really like this
Nah y'all aren't hearing this like I am. This album is girly pop as hell. Pretty much every song here is a bop. The final three tracks are noticeably weaker but this is some of her best work
This one would make me jump around at a middle school dance. So endearingly 2010s
Really solid little project! Thank you for the recommendation, SnowyFighter, and great work on this. I enjoy the last two tracks the most, especially The Freeze, which was my favorite.
There are so many amazing classic albums that I just haven't rated on this site for one reason or another. Sometimes I don't feel the need because I kinda already understand them to be very good. And yeah, this one is very good.
