NINE DAYS UNTIL ICEMAN
decided to listen to one drake album per day until iceman drops. today's pick was 'her loss', and there isn't much to say except that its good lol. 21 savage does pretty good throughout the album (especially his verse on "broke boys" that shits hard asf). the production's great too, i don't think there's a single bad beat on this album. most of the songs are pretty unique too. only criticism is that it's got a couple of ... read more
idk man this was pretty boring to me overall and doesn’t compare to her other albums. it has a few good tracks (all the rock ones) but nothing playlist-worthy. i can recognise the overall quality of the album, but not much of it is for me.
rating bonus ep only
scary hours 3 is one of drake’s best ever projects. he goes 6/6 with ease, with some of his best lyricism and production ever. drake’s performance is also beautiful with more emotional, introspective rapping. i love this ep so much dawg
yo idk if i was in a weird mood when i listened to this or what but its lowkey pretty mid. most of the songs are repetitive/sound the same, i feel like the blown-out 808 style just gets tired eventually. i wanted to like it cuz i'm usually a big osamason fan but its got like two bangers and then a whole lot of filler. that being said, there's barely any outright 'bad' songs (just "function" and "gintama"), and the production is still pretty good overall.
honestly i couldn’t make a single criticism of this album and it’s definitely kendrick’s best. conceptually it’s up there with tpab but damn wins for me because i’ve actually had many of these tracks on repeat, it’s more listenable than other kendrick projects for me. and overall i just appreciate the more modern production on the album a lot, its more in line with my taste in music. bumped up to a 9.2 from an 8.7 average.
it’s alright, has a few good songs. favourite is “deja vu”. bumped up to a 6.8 from 6.5 average, felt like the average was dragged down a bit too much by the more boring tracks like “1 step forward, 3 steps back”.
such an incredible album. the psychedelic vibe throughout is so sick and there are SO many bangers. literally four 10/10 tracks in “sicko mode”, “no bystanders”, “skeletons”, and “can’t say”. bumped up to a 9.4 from an 8.8 average rating.
prolly better to ignore the track ratings for this one cuz it’s hard to rate individual tracks on a beautiful concept album like this one. like i hate to rate the more lyrical songs towards the end of the album so low but my rating system is very biased towards listenability and not “art”, which is why i’ve bumped it up to an 8.7 from an 8.1 average rating. great album tho, been consistently listening to it for years and it’s unfortunately better than tpab for me ... read more
man i hate to be that guy but tpab is not THAT good for me personally. still obv a really good album with an amazing concept and execution. i really love "alright", "the blacker the berry", and "mortal man". bumped up to an 8.5 from an average rating of 7.9.
holy shit 😭 to have this good of a grip on the rage genre at the age of 12 is insane. really fun samples and good production overall but it’s obviously held back by the fact that i have to listen to a 12-year-old rapping. definitely looking forward to north’s future projects tho, crazy career potential. a lot of the songs would’ve been better if the samples were used in a better way than just as cool intros and outros. also idk if i really believe that north west produced ... read more
some very great songs (“flooded the face”, “x2”) but a lot of very mid tracks. the “rock” parts were pretty ass in general but the best one for me was “the end” which is a pretty fun listen. and the album overall is definitely a fun listen.
had to give these two songs what they deserve rq. mafia is a perfect trav song.
escape plan - 8.6/10
mafia - 10/10
unfinished review for an unfinished album (i didn’t rate any tracks not released on spotify, even tho i wish “pablo” and “happy” were officially released). it’s got like 3 good songs (“530” and “keep the flowers” being the two best by far) and then a lot of weird instrumentally unfinished sounding tracks. overall quite mid, but for the record i’ll always be grateful that this release has “530” with no ai on it.
50th review!
great album, full of bangers and if i was more of a carti fan he'd probs go 19/19 on this. one 10/10 track in "fell in luv", and i bumped it up to an 8.6 from an average rating of 8.4.
GOATED album. probably my favourite rock/alternative album oat? can't say i've listened to many others though, and i've been indoctrinated to like p!atd from a young age by my sister. but seriously this album never gets old and it went 11/11 for me. every song brings something new and fresh and the drums and catchy hooks throughout the album are great.
bit of a different album than usual, decent album with a couple great songs ("you right" and "been like this" are my highlights). some good quality tracks that just aren't exactly my vibe like "need to know" and "ain't shit", so i did bump the album up to a 7.1 from an average rating of 7.0. i listened to the deluxe songs as well but i'm not including them in this review because there's nothing noteworthy except "you right" ... read more
this album is sooo good and the hate on it pisses me off. mfs are expecting DRAKE to be some lyrical mastermind. he delivers good-sounding music which personally is all i'm looking for when listening to drake. and the lyricism isn't even THAT bad on this album?? not everything needs to be a work of art man. its got some of drake's best like "champagne poetry" and "fair trade" (with "champagne poetry" being a 10/10 track). overhated asf. bumped up to ... read more
