holy tuff. i love the beachy vibes that comes with this song and this is my introduction to dom fike and i was not disappointed! i love how soft it is and i think the mix of the singing and rapping helps give it more personality. this and red light has be really excited for Blush!!
idk what they are feeding people in 2025 but damn!!! this is a beautiful and acoustic song because wow. i love dev shes so silly in her videos and i remember being so surprised her music was this good. this is no exception. i could easily sob to this song i mean its so raw. my favorite lead single from her album!! cant wait!!
im done with the "this is an album to" because im uncreative now. but i loved this!! recommended to me and i was surprised!! literally went in with no prior knowledge on who dcfc even was but woaw. idek how to classify this album! i didnt dislike any song, and the final 3 tracks is probably one of my favorite 3 song runs in a while. because wow. stable song definitely deserves more love though!! bc wdym lowest rated?? its great!! this album is pretty damn great!! i see myself enjoying ... read more
negro swan is an album to listen to when seeing the smoke. im not the biggest fan of r&b or anything related but this was a great listen. i really love his voice and what i got out of this is the theme of identity. you really gotta be proud of who you are and change should only come as a result of your own judgement, not anyone elses. the only grudge i have against it is repetition, as i dont like when phrases or words are repeating for most of the song because it messes up the immersion ... read more
the listening room is an album to listen to when you're wondering if you're just friends or something more. THISSS IS MORNING FOREVER!! i absolutely loved pushing pulling and this is just as if not more impressive. the band sounds like they've graduated into their own sphere and wow do they do well. the only thing i was a little confused on is why they added the demo at the end when the rest of the album is just polished songs, but other than that this is great. i really love ... read more
dopamine is an album to listen to while double screening. this is it! this is the shit!! i really think teccas starting to dive into his potential a little more especially with the success of dark thoughts and his fanbase growing so much. a lot of people are starting to mess with him and i think those people would find this an enjoyable project. with the exception of boys dont cry (imo), i dont think any song on the project was as much as experience as listening to dark thoughts for the first ... read more
section 80 is an album to listen to while growing up in the ronald reagan era. the impressive first album from a star that would shine way brighter than this. i love it! i think his voice sounds the most different on this compared to any of his other projects, and it kinda gives it more of an indie feel and not a mainstream hiphop feel which makes the album sound more comforting in a way. i remember first listening to this album because of a video on SAMIDOT, which mentioned kieshas song so i ... read more
addison is an album to listen to while drinking diet pepsi. its fine. its a fine album. i dont think theres any real depth to it and most of it is just generic, but things are generic for a reason. it can be good. there are a handful of tracks i see myself going back to, but other than that really this feels like a nothing burger. she definitely has the passion to make a great album, but since this is being advertised as her first and last project, i guess thats not happening lmfao
overall - ... read more
lotus is an album to listen to after your brother calls you for the first time in years. this was my first impression of little simz and i was definitely not disappointed! i easily see her storytelling potential and this really shines in blood which was my favorite track. the title track is amazing too, and i really think she does really well on this project. while not my favorite from this year, this was definitely one of the better releases we've gotten thus far.
overall - great album!
k1 is an album to listen to when wasting your life like an idiot. this is a great project! my first kmoe project and it was not a disappointment!! the only thing that holds it back a little personally is that sometimes the production can be inconsistent within the songs, other than that it was great all around.
overall: pretty great/great album!
magic alive is an album to listen to while floating in the clouds. i really liked this one!! beloved paradise jazz was one of the first of its kind of sound i listened to, and this one is no different. honestly i feel like there is a lot more to unpack in this album than I did, so i plan to revisit this in the future to really appreciate the storytelling i know mckinley has. but from what i got from my first listen, it really feels like a moving on album. he speaks a lot about tragedy a lot in ... read more
tha carter vi is an album to listen to when you know your goat is washed. i came into this with moderate expectations because i know wayne is regarded as one of the greatest to ever do it, and it started off pretty good, but damn did it fall off a lot in the end. the main stand outs to me was jay jones on hip hop and big sean on sharks, but other than that there was maybe 4/19 songs i would say i would think of going back to. its kinda a nothing burger and he spends half the album saying the ... read more
heroes and villains is an album to listen to while clutchin glizzies with the fellas. i was here for this albums release and it was one of the first times i stayed up on a school night to listen to an album drop, an action that would lead to my discovery of quadeca just a month later. theres some real good track on this record, metros production always goes well with these artists he chose for features like the trap trifecta that is 21, future, and travis on this one. don toliver i really loved ... read more
ok computer is an album to listen to after surviving a car crash. this is an absolutely phenomenal album!! it has such a distant sound to the whole thing, a unsettling but simultaneously comforting ambiance can be found in basically every song. it has basically everything youd need in an album, times of hope and times of sorrow, times of love, times of confusion, times of giving up, the list goes on. the vocal performance by yorke is really one for the books as he adds so much to every track. ... read more
fake it flowers is an album to listen to when youre finally blooming!! this album surprised me a lot actually! i didnt think this would hold up to her most recent albums but it definitely did and it was amazing to experience!! this really seems like both an independence and dependence album, because it feels like shes finally growing out to be her own person, but she still feels like she needs to be watered by love in order to really bloom. but she knows that attachment is dangerous, so even if ... read more
to pimp a butterfly is an album to listen to while remembering where you came from. this is not even an album. this is a artistic masterpiece diving deep into what it really means to be african-american. this is the most acclaimed album ive ever heard of, and for damn good reason. THIS is rap. THIS is hip-hop. THIS is poetry. it goes straight into themes like how black people are treated in america, how they strive for the american dream when america really doesn't want people that look ... read more
damn is an album to listen to when deciding whether to take the path of wickedness or weakness. this was really a jaw dropping album for me, but thats to be expected with a kendrick project. i think this is his most mainstream album (excluding the new gnx) as humble, loyalty, dna, and love really popped off when this came out, and i think thats for good reason. the album swaps between a theme of wickedness or weakness between every track which i think is a phenomenal creative direction for an ... read more
goodbye and good riddance is an album to listen to with a woman from colorado. this is a great album! it definitely has its ups and downs but overall most of the songs are about the same quality. i find myself loving most of the songs and its a great experience! i think betrayal is pretty useless giving what happened in the intro, but i think karma and the intro work well for the album as a whole. its a nice collection of an experience with both heartbreak and drugs.
overall: great album!
good kid m.a.a.d city is an album to listen to while riding in your moms van. THIS is a rap album. oh my god. ive listened to the album in full before, but i really wanted to listen it while really paying attention to the lyrics and damn. the first track alone which i used to think was just an interlude had my jaw on the floor at the end. its definitely an album to listen to front to back, but the tracks are so good they can just as easily be listened to individually with an amazing experience. ... read more
