I really think people on this site just don't like having fun. I loved this album. And his "Kanye impression" was one of the best parts. Fire Fly could have well been on Graduation. Lots of fun pop culture references and some really enjoyable production made this album for me.
Favorite Tracks: Fire Fly, All the Shine, Sunrise
charli xcx + ninajirachi with a tiny bit of porter robinson influence is what i got from this.
that said. that is a very very good thing
I swear that first five seconds sounds like hold music I’ve heard before
How you gonna let the intro be the second best track bro ๐ญ
Just about what I expected from a Good Kid album. They’ve never really done anything too crazy that I’ve seen. It’s not a bad release at all, and shows some real potential.
Favorite Tracks: Wall, Cicada, Coffee
I’ve really been enjoying what I’ve been hearing from some of these hyperpop artists recently when it comes to pop. Underscores did really well on this project. It feels less chaotic than her previous work, but more composed and polished. Still a quite fun listen.
Favorite Tracks: Hollywood Forever, Lovefield, Bodyfeeling
Sweden is the single greatest piece of sound ever produced by a human being.
An incredibly ambitious and conceptual record from Gorillaz, and what just may be my favorite of theirs. While it doesn’t have the hits of Plastic Beach or Demon Days, its ultimate coherence and wonderfully flowing sound glues it together as a truly incredible piece. If you haven’t yet, go watch the accompanying animated short of YouTube, it’s also fantastic.
Favorite Tracks: The Happy Dictator, The Manifesto, The God of Lying
the lung sounds like martian girl by the aquabats
raisans sounds like hexagon force by waterflame
i will not elaborate
This could have been Thank God For Drugs. Thanks, Rick Rubin! Nonetheless, this album is pretty good. But it could have been infinitely better with tracks like “Emotionless” or “Awesome.” Some of those tracks have been recycled into other tracks here or elsewhere, but this album loses most of its appeal outside of its hits. That being said, the hits are phenomenal.
Favorite Tracks: New Slaves, Bound 2, Black Skinhead
Dare I say the best rap album so far this year. I loved all of the styles on this, and honestly, the only thing I actively disliked was Kendrick's verse on Good Flirts. This record shows maturity, growth, and sonic fine-tuning in a great way, and despite its short runtime, it's really enjoyable to listen to, especially in its entirety. An absolutely solid second album from Baby Keem.
Favorite Tracks: No Security, Birds & the Bees, Dramatic Girl
A really promising album that shows Charli's ability to vary her style and deliver something very different from her usual work. Loved the darker tones on this project, but it has some really catchy songs too (even if they're not always meant to be). Overall a super solid project, although I've seen people aren't saying the same about the movie.
Favorite Tracks: House, Out of Myself, Dying for You
Not bad at all, but it feels too blown out to capture the emotions that it wants to. The songs are so short that you barely notice half of them, but the theming and instrumentals are consistent and flow well with each other. There are some great tracks, but it feels a little limited to the singles in that regard.
Favorite Tracks: PIXELATED KISSES, LOVE YOU LESS, Horses to Water
