Long Live by The Chariot is my favorite album of all time and it’s honestly not even close. The Chariot are a band I discovered fairly recently, a little over a year ago, and ever since hearing this particular album for the first time, I have not been able to stop relistening to The Chariot’s discography. This song is my favorite of the singles for the new album so far, while my favorite Boundaries music is typically stuff with more melodic riffs, the sheer aggression this song brings is second to none, right up there with My Body Is A Cage and Like Petals From A Stem.
I love this band but this song is a bit of a miss for me. It is well written but it doesn't really have any of the aspects I love about Boundaries. All of the singles so far have lacked the sick melodic riffs of their older material but the previous two made up for that through their sheer anger and energy while this song lacks both imo. I'm sure it will be good in the context of the rest of the album but I'm probably not gonna return to this song specifically on its own.
