Underwhelming and pretty boring. A few good tracks but it lacks the fun that made previous releases stand out.
Beautiful, a deeply profound showcase of talent, the production is layered and dense with an aura of the strange. Sadly, it just isn't for me.
A great debut from a band I hope sticks around. Obviously the singles are the highlights here but I think digging a little deeper rewards the listener in ways you won't expect. Better on each listen.
A great project that sees Chelsea casting spells and fighting demons. Some of the songs overstay their welcome and I think the NIN comparisons are a bit much, but I really enjoyed the witchy aesthetic and rocking sounds this album brought.
Call me crazy, this album is my favorite from Ari. Her vocals are more clear, the production is so clean, the songwriting is beautiful and personal. I really loved this project.
This band is so good. I love the laid back juxtaposition this has when held up against their other phenomenal project, Raw Data Feel. I love both albums so much and for all their differences. This album, while having a darker theme, has such a light and airy vibe. I feel like I am walking through the cultish island that the albums concept illustrates. Genuinely phenomenal.
Oh Yeah, this shit slaps. Levi Jeans is a sexy bedroom jam for this generation, the covers are beautiful and meaningful, the features all really bring up the tracks. It is gorgeous and full of passion. I can tell Beyonce really cared about the messages she was conveying on this. I think going out of her comfort zone a little really highlighted her talents as a songwriter and vocalist. Despite its length, it is an absolute breeze to float through the tracklist here. I will be coming back again ... read more
Brittany takes all of the passion and majesty from Jaime and applies it here more consistently. The soundscapes here will have you floating. It is almost meditative in nature. Please never change Miss Howard.
The first few tracks are so good but I don't think it quite keeps up the momentum through to the end
While it is occasionally heartbreaking and gorgeous, I found a lot of it a little sleepy. Not exactly my favorite genre but what Bill is trying to do, he does well.
While it doesn't quite reach the highs of The Impossible Kid, SWFG is a great blend of Aes's excellent production and labyrinthian lyricism. Not quite as solid as I remember it being, it is still an amazing project that keeps you engaged through the lengthy track list.
A throwback for the ages. Seriously the storytelling, the mixing, the hooks. Everything on this project just WORKS! It is genuinely as close to perfect as this genre can get. Why is Allie still not a bigger deal? I've shared this with every member of my family. WHY IS IT SO GOOD
Not my favorite project by MP, but it still brings their trademark fun and punchy brevity that works in the small doses they always deliver.
A very interesting blend of genres that shows Pearl Jam isn't completely out of ideas. Between Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam releasing solid projects, it makes me wonder if we are in for a comeback from any other rock acts of their time.
I waited a long time to review this because I really thought it would click for me but it just doesn't. The vocal delivery drives me nuts. Some of the songs are gorgeous, but I just can't make myself like the whole project.
I want it to be better that it is. I like the sounds on here but it just doesn't quite come together.
This album is so much fun. It is simplistic and not particularly deep, but it will have you dancing in your seat.
An insanely interesting underground release in a year that is begging for more from Hip Hop that just can't seem to deliver. Good production, great features. I love it.
I prefer the back half of this project but I can't pretend it touches anything on Folklore or Evermore.
*sigh* I have been a staunch Taylor Swift defender but I fear this whole project risks turning her into what everyone has been accusing her of for years. These songs sound so similar, do nothing particularly interesting, and go for way too long. The endless vinyl releases will keep it at the top of the charts but if you have to rely on that to get there, wouldn't it be easier to just put the work in and make something interesting? I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed :/
